Update (1/31): This update is now live.
Original (1/29): Nintendo and Camelot have announced a major update for Mario Tennis Aces. Version 2.2.0 is dropping on the evening of January 31 in North America, and February 1 around the rest of the world.
The new update will add a Court Selection screen in Free Play and Swing Mode, a Hosted Match mode, characters changes, and more. Continue on below for the full patch notes.

The Blind Prophet coming to Switch

Ars Goetia has announced that its point-and-click narrative adventure game The Blind Prophet is coming to Switch. There’s no release date yet, but the speed of porting will depend on the success of a Kickstarter campaign, which has a little over a week remaining (and is close to its goal).

Cinders hitting Switch in February

Pokemon GO introduces new wave of evolutions and more

Niantic has announced its latest plans for Pokemon GO.
First, starting today, players can use a Sinnoh Stone to evolve Lickitung into Lickilicky, Tangela into Tangrowth, and more. Additionally, new Pokemon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region will appear in the wild for the first time, including Cranidos and Shieldon. And if that wasn’t enough, you may also see more Pokemon originally discovered in the Sinnoh region appearing in Eggs.

Nintendo announces Dr. Mario World for mobile, new partnership with LINE

The puzzle game Dr. Mario World is coming to mobile devices, Nintendo has just announced. It’s targeted for release this summer.
Rather than DeNA, Nintendo is partnering with LINE on the app. The two sides “will co-develop and jointly operate” Dr. Mario World.

Kano revealed for Mortal Kombat 11

Kano is joining the Mortal Kombat 11 roster, Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios have announced. He has appeared since the series’ first entry in 1992.
Baraka, Geras, Raiden, Scorpion, Shao Kahn, Skarlet, Sonya Blade, and Sub-Zero were previously revealed for Mortal Kombat 11. More characters will be shared before launch on April 23.

Crystal Crisis delayed to May 28, adds Peter Cullen narration and more

Crystal Crisis has been delayed, moving from its April 23 release date. Nicalis will now ship the game on May 28.
Despite the delay, Nicalis will be adding more content to the game. This includes a new playable character, an intro narrated by voice actor Peter Cullen (who voices Optimus Prime in Transformers), and more.

Original: Nintendo has pumped out the latest commercial for Switch, attached below. Final Fantasy VII – which hasn’t been released yet – gets some love, as does Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Perhaps it’s a sign that Final Fantasy VII is coming sooner rather than later?
