Super Smash Bros. - Nintendo Switch

Tiago Sonobe worked at Bandai Namco between April 2014 and August 2016 as a software engineer and graphics programmer. That same month, he moved over to Nintendo – also as a software engineer.

Sonobe’s work history is notable due to an apparent tweet which has now been deleted (and his account as well). In his message, Sonobe mentions that he left Bandai Namco before the production on Smash Bros. Switch started. However, he further says he created the rendering engine it’s built on.

Splatoon 2 - Sanrio collaboration

In North America and Europe, a tournament-style Splatfest has been taking place featuring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Something similar has now been announced for Japan featuring Sanrio characters.

Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll will be up first, with My Melody vs. Pompompurin following next. The winners from both matches will go on to the final round. Splatfests will start on May 19 leading up through June 10.

T-shirts based on the Splatfests will be available on the My Nintendo store in Japan. Pre-orders are already up here (folks in the west are out of luck unfortunately).

Just like previous Hint Arts that have been shared online, you won’t receive any new Power Moons for solving the Hint Art. On the bright side, it’s a little extra activity to bring players back to the game.

The FTC recently issued a warning to Nintendo and a few other companies regarding their handling of warranties. In response, the Big N complied and has changed the language in its terms.

Speaking about the update, Nintendo passed along the following statement to USgamer:

Hulu’s live TV service has been available on various platforms for over a year. Following feedback, the interface has been adjusted so that users can more easily find what’s on now. Best of all, CNET reports that the new guide is available on Switch.

To access the guide, go to the “Live TV” lightning bolt tab at the top of the home screen. According to CNET, “Rather than a full-on grid, it shows what’s playing now on five channels at a time in a vertical stack, but only the currently selected channel extends to the right to display future shows.”

Users can choose to display either all of the channels available or just the ten most recent ones. However, you can’t manually designate favorite channels.
