New Layton anime will feature Katrielle, starts Spring 2018 in Japan

Shogakukan’s Ciao has the first details on the new Layton anime. Layton Mystery Detective Agency: Kat’s Mystery-Solving Files will debut in Japan in Spring 2018, according to the magazine.
The new anime is based on Layton’s Mystery Journey, which stars Katrielle “Kat” Layton. It will take place in London and follows Katrielle and her dog Sherl. The mystery-solving show has a “high-speed comical mystery-solving story”. Additionally, Ciao shows the silhouette of a character resembling Professor Layton.

Nintendo talks about why DLC is a good fit for Switch, possibility for new Joy-Con options

Over the past few years, we’ve seen an uptick in Nintendo’s dedication to DLC. President Tatsumi Kimishima just said yesterday that the company intends to beef up its approach in that area next year. And almost all of Nintendo’s releases this year have seen free or paid DLC.
Shinya Takahashi, Nintendo’s Entertainment Planning and Development Division general manager, recently spoke to IGN and talked about why DLC is a good fit on Switch. He explained to the site:

OPUS: Rocket of Whispers, Ninja Striker! heading to Switch

Flyhigh Works announced a pair of new titles for Switch during a presentation today. OPUS: Rocket of Whispers and Ninja Striker are both due out sometime in 2018.
OPUS: Rocket of Whispers is the next game in the series following The Day We Found Earth. It’s a third-person adventure that takes place in a snowy post-apocalyptic wilderness of an unknown world many years in the future.
Kamiko surpasses 160,000 downloads worldwide, Voez downloaded over 50,000 times

Flyhigh Works provided an update on the sales of two Switch games during a video presentation today.
Kamiko, released at the end of April, has surpassed over 160,000 downloads worldwide. The most recent number confirmed in October was 150,000 downloads.
The rhythm game Voez also seems to be doing pretty well. The game has been downloaded over 50,000 times.

Top 30 most recommended games from Switch players in Japan

In Japan, Switch owners started receiving surveys from Nintendo for different games. One question asks if they would recommend that title to a friend or family.
Nintendo published the results today based on data collected by December 27. A game was only eligible if it received over 300 responses.

Fire Emblem Heroes – Legendary Heroes summoning, Double EXP and SP Event now live

Fire Emblem Heroes has kicked off a couple of new events. The Legendary Heroes summoning, first announced yesterday, is now live. You can also earn double EXP and SP in battle.
For the Legendary Heroes summoning, you can get Gunnthra: Voice f Dreams. Nintendo is also offering 5-star Special Heroes that were released previously. 5-star Focus Heroes will have an initial appearance rate of 8% as well, and the rate for regular 5-star Heroes will be 0%.
