Nintendo maintenance schedule – October 30, 2022

New maintenance has been added to Nintendo’s maintenance schedule for early November. Switch, 3DS, and Wii U will all be impacted during the downtime, of which several hours are planned.

Octopath Traveler II is making some notable improvements over the first game, including how the protagonists have more interactions with each other. In the series’ first entry, the characters never really acknowledged each other.

Bayonetta 3 devs on game’s origins, Kamiya says he’s “forever indebted to Nintendo”

PlatinumGames supervising director Hideki Kamiya and Nintendo producer Makoto Okazaki have talked about the origins of Bayonetta 3. The information comes from this week’s issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu, as the two participated in an in-depth discussion about the Switch title.
Kamiya confirmed that PlatinumGames started working on a proposal and prototype after its previous project, Scalebound, was cancelled. Nintendo was already moving forward with ports of Bayonetta 1 and 2 for Switch, and Kamiya then shared a video message which Okazaki believes “was the final push that made this game into a reality.” Meanwhile, Kamiya mentioned that he’s “forever indebted to Nintendo.”

Fire Emblem Heroes adding Arval: Cycle Keeper as new Mythic Hero

Fire Emblem Heroes has revealed Arval: Cycle Keeper as its latest Mythic Hero. As part of the same event, players will be able to summon previously released 5-star Mythic, Legendary, and New Heroes.
Arval: Cycle Keeper is voiced by Melissa Hutchison and has art from nijimaarc. Learnable skills include Rite of Souls, Glacies, Duality, Atk/Res Tempo 3, and Atk/Res Oath 4.
