To celebrate the Pokemon Masters Tournament in the anime, Ash’s current team is being distributed via event code for Pokemon Sword and Shield. Despite it being targeted in Japan, it seems players worldwide can take advantage. Whilst Ash’s Gengar will remain live until September 15, Ash’s Sirfetch’d is now being distributed for the next two weeks.

The creature comes in at level 80 and has the moves Meteor Assault, Brutal Swing, Fury Cutter, and Detect. It has the ability Steadfast and also comes holding a Leek.

Malzeno, Felyne Malzeno Palico, and Canyne Malzeno Palamute GameStop

Original (9/6): Monster Hunter fans and amiibo collectors have been wondering when we’d be seeing the Malzeno, Felyne Malzeno Palico, and Canyne Malzeno Palamute figures in the United States. Thankfully, the wait is almost over. All of these products will be available tomorrow, September 7.

The Malzeno figure has technically been available since the rise of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. This was included in the game’s collector’s edition. However, there’s been no way to get it individually, and the Felyne Malzeno Palico and Canyne Malzeno amiibo have thus far not been available in the United States.

Original: Illumination Studios Paris has recently updated their official website page for the upcoming Super Mario movie, and this has led to a few interesting details popping up. First of all, the title of the film is listed as “Super Mario Bros. Animated Film”, which means “Super Mario Bros.” is likely just a working title. More interestingly though is the given release date.

While the date on the left lists Holiday 2022, an outdated release date that was changed to April 2023 a few months ago, the right side lists a new date of “holiday 2023”, possibly indicating that the movie has once again been delayed, this time from its previously mentioned April 2023 release.

Heroes of Hyrule

Did You Know Gaming? has secured information about another Zelda spin-off that Metroid Prime developer Retro Studios pitched to Nintendo, which was known as Heroes of Hyrule.

The game would have a story involving three heroes that lived 100 years in the past: a Goron, a Rito, and a Zora. The trio actually went on a mission to save Link. Link himself was actually captured while trying to rescue Princess Zelda from Ganon. That’s where the three heroes come in. Eventually 100 years pass, and Link becomes an old man that owns an antiquities shop.

Sonic essence

Sonic the Hedgehog boss Takashi Iizuka has spoken about the essence of the series and what makes a new entry in the series great.

In Iizuka’s view, it’s all about the “fun feeling” you have while moving. He told Eurogamer that regardless of whether it’s a 2D or 3D game, linear or open zone, “it’s really that sense of enjoyment that I’m running with Sonic at a high speed and [thinking]: this is fun, and I’m having a great time.” However, he doesn’t believe it simply comes down to “going fast”.

Armed Fantasia and Penny Blood

Original (8/26): The key creators behind the Wild Arms series and Shadow Hearts series have just announced a “Double Kickstarter” campaign intended to bring Armed Fantasia and Penny Blood to life. These are two new, large scale JRPGs inspired by their previous games.

Armed Fantasia features a dramatic story about a group of Pathfinders and their trusted ARMs who embark on a perilous journey across an expansive Westernpunk world hurtling towards destruction. Akifumi Kaneko, creator of the Wild Arms series, will be in charge of lead game design and scenario writing. Tomomi Sasaki is handling character design. Lastly, music is planned to be made by Michiko Naruke, Noriyasu Uematsu and Elements Garden, also veterans of the Wild Arms series.

Nintendo PAX West 2022

Nintendo was previously confirmed for PAX West 2022, and the company has now shared concrete details as to what it has planned for the expo.

Splatoon 3 will be a major highlight of Nintendo’s involvement. The rocks of the new Scorch Gorge stage will be appearing as backdrops within its booth, which is being transformed into scenes inspired by the sun-scorched Splatlands. Those that stop by can play a demo of multiplayer Turf War battles. Note that a free Warp Pipe Pass is required to play Splatoon 3 at the Nintendo booth, and fans can register for the chance to reserve one now here until August 28 at 11:59 PM PT. The Nintendo Splatoon 3 booth will also include real-life photo opportunities.

Sakurai Kirby's Dream Land

Masahiro Sakurai just opened a new YouTube channel, and one of the first videos he published focuses on Kirby’s Dream Land and its creation. One part of the video provides an excerpt from the original game proposal, pictured above.

Sakurai felt that with the game, “there had to be an easier way to take advantage of the enemies on-screen.” While he initially considered having Kirby use his tongue to grab foes, he ultimately went with what the character is now famous for: inhaling them and spitting them out.
