Greninja amiibo officially confirmed Toys “R” Us exclusive, pre-orders open tomorrow

It’s official: the Greninja amiibo will be a Toys “R” Us exclusive in North America. This has been confirmed via an official statement from the retailer (see above). Pre-orders for Greninja will open tomorrow.

Everything we’ve been hearing about the Greninja amiibo thus far has indicated that the figure will be exclusive to Toys “R” Us. That would certainly make sense given that Lucario was also exclusive to the retailer. When we receive an official confirmation, we’ll be sure to let you know.

During today’s Nintendo Direct, it was finally confirmed that amiibo are planned for Splatoon. They’ll be available in a single pack on May 29. Inkling girl and boy will be available individually.

Update 2: Added several more April Fools’ Day-related stuff, including fake Runbow character reveals, Mutant Mudds for Virtual Boy, and more!
Update (4/1): Added Xenoblade Chronicles X’s Tatsu website takeover, and fake games from Inti Creates/WayForward.
April Fools’ Day 2015 has already started. Google Maps kicked things off with a special game of Pac-Man, and we’re starting to see a few things coming out of Japan as well.
