The Guardian published a new feature this week with Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai. Sakurai weighed in on the importance of remembering the beginner crowd, said that he’ll continue working on the series as long as there’s demand, and more.

Below are the highlights:

Variety is reporting that Ben Schwartz will be voicing Sonic in next year’s Sonic the Hedgehog movie. He’ll be joined by James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Jim Carrey.

Schwartz is currently voicing Dewey Duck in the reboot of DuckTales and will play the role of Leonardo in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Other than that, he’s been in Blue Iguana and has a role in Night School.

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie will debut on November 15, 2019.

For a while now, Nintendo of Europe has been selling download codes for games as well as officially licensed merchandise via its online store. However, the selection has always been somewhat limited compared to the official Nintendo UK store. It seems like this will soon be changing, as a new banner on the store’s splash page promises that the store will be updated with new merchandise this September. However, more importantly, the store has now been rebranded as the “My Nintendo Store”.

Nothing has changed yet, but the name change seems to indicate that the store will be tied to the My Nintendo rewards program in some way. This would follow what Nintendo did it in Japan with its online store, which also integrated the My Nintendo brand and has been offering a lot of unique and exclusive products since then.

We will keep you updated once more changes come to light.

Switch wasn’t the best-selling platform in the United States during June. That honor went to the NES Classic Edition, thanks to the recent restock. It was the highest unit-selling hardware platform. As relayed by NPD’s Mat Piscatella, this is the first time a Nintendo Entertainment System console has led in monthly unit sales since NPD tracking began in 1995.

Despite not being number one, there is still good news for Switch. Nintendo’s console saw its sales rise over 50% in June year-over-year.
