Original: The folks over at Nintendo World Report have a couple of comparison videos involving the Super NES Classic Edition. Star Fox 2 is compared to the beta while Super Mario World is compared to the original SNES release. Both videos are included below.

Switch has been receiving all sorts of compliments from developers and industry members. Suda51 event recently called the system as well as Nintendo in general “punk”.

Mashable brought this up with Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime. That led him to talk about Nintendo’s dedication to innovating, in which he mentioned:

This year’s Tokyo Game Show has drawn to a close. However, we can already look forward to the expo’s return in 2018. TGS 2018 will take place between September 20 and September 23, once again at the Makuhari Messe.

254,311 people showed up for this year’s TGS. Although that number is less than the attendance count for 2016 and 2015, it’s more than 2014 (251,832).

The only way to get your hands on the 30th anniversary version of the Wind Waker amiibo in North America was by purchasing a 2-pack. However, a new listing on Nintendo’s CPSIA page indicates that Toon Link is seeing a standalone release. The figure received its first wave of manufacturing this month.

We also have news about the original Zelda amiibo from the Smash Bros. line. That figure went through a new run of manufacturing this month as well, so a reprint could be coming soon.

Did you know that it’s Nintendo’s birthday today? Really, it is! Nintendo was established way back on September 23, 1889. The big N has certainly come a long way from the days of love hotels and making hanafuda cards.

Whereas last year was a bit of a down year for Nintendo, things couldn’t look brighter for the company. Switch is firing on all cylinders, 3DS is still receiving some love, Nintendo has its mobile games, and they’re dipping their toes into new areas like the partnership with Universal for Super Nintendo World. It’s definitely a good time to be a Nintendo fan.

Next week, in conjunction with the Super NES Classic Edition, Prima will be publishing a special guide. It’ll come in two flavor: the standard version and a collector’s edition.

Over on its Twitter page, Prima offered a first look at the collector’s edition, including the slipcase. We’re also able to get a look inside the book itself. Check out the full video below.

For the original NES Classic Edition, Nyko created the Miniboss wireless controller. The company is returning with something similar for the Super NES Classic edition.

Around the launch of the Super NES Classic Edition, consumers will be able to purchase the Super Miniboss, a wireless controller for the system. It was designed to replicate the retro style and feel of the SNES while offering cord-free gameplay. A turbo button for fast inputs is also included, which also has home screen functionality by hitting that button along with select.
