Monolith Soft, developer of the Xenoblade games, has made an update to its staff recruitment page. It now seeks “urgent” and “mass” recruitment for 3DCG designers.

This is the lineup of positions available at the Monolith Soft Tokyo office recruitment section:

– Programmer
– Planner
– 3DCG Designer (Urgent!)
– 2D Designer
– Effect Designer
– Motion Designer
– Project Manager

And the Kyoto office:

– 3DCG Designer (Mass Recruitment!)
– Effect Designer
– Motion Designer

Note that the Tokyo office has been responsible for the Xenoblade games. The Kyoto office is more new and has assisted with the development of Nintendo titles.

Of course, as this site is primarily intended for developers and publishers, there’s not a massive amount to see for the general public. It is interesting to look at though in any case!


Earlier this week, we told you about plans to make plushies available based on Splatoon. Today, retailer Play-Asia has followed up with pre-orders. You can reserve each one here.

The various plushies are priced at $21.99 each. They’ll be shipped on December 25.

On one of its Twitter accounts, Best Buy announced a new amiibo exclusive for Canada. The Animal Crossing figure Lottie will only be sold at this retailer in the country. Pre-orders are live here.

Will Lottie be exclusive to Best Buy in the United States as well? Only time will tell!

Pokemon Go developer Niatic announced today that it has raised its Series A financing round from The Pokemon Company Group, Google and Nintendo. As mentioned in today’s announcement, “The companies are investing up to $30 million in Niantic, Inc., which includes an initial $20 million upfront and an additional $10 million conditioned upon achieving certain milestones.” Through the funding, Niatic intends to continue developing Pokemon Go, support the global Ingress community, scale its platform, and release new games.

Niantic CEO John Hank said of today’s news:

“The Pokémon Company, Google and Nintendo are incredible investors and strategic partners to help build the next chapter for Niantic. We will be using this capital to continue the development of Pokémon GO, to evolve and grow Ingress and its thriving global community, and to build out our real-world gaming platform.”

Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and CEO of The Pokémon Company, also stated:

“Pokémon’s strategic investment in Niantic paves the way for a social mobile experience the world has never seen before. The Pokémon Company is committed to partnering with companies like Niantic that share the same spirit of community and innovation.”

Finally, some words from Google’s VP of corporate development, Don Harrison:

“Niantic has shown the great potential of mixing geolocation technology, dynamic storytelling and innovative game design, and we’re excited to continue supporting the team on their journey.”

Some Zelda fans in North America will soon be able to test out the series’ latest entry, Tri Force Heroes. Demo codes are starting to be distributed via email.

The download allows players to go through a dungeon with two friends via local play. Online co-op will also be available at the following times:

– 10/16: 5 PM – 10 PM PT
– 10/17: 5 PM – 10 PM PT
– 10/18: 7 AM – 12 PM PT

If you do receive a code, it can be redeemed on the eShop.

The Mario Hot Wheels we heard about previously are coming to store shelves soon. According to Nintendo’s Facebook page, they’ll be available this month.


A few different toys are planned for release. We’ll be seeing Hot Wheels based on the various Super Mario Bros. games, Mario Kart, and Dr. Mario.

Pokken Tournament is holding a special celebration in celebration of Halloween. Players can participate in the event until November 3.

Below are all of the relevant details:

– Play the event if you play the game using a Bana Passport and your Bana account
– Gives you a special Support set of Mismagius and Ninetales
– Haunted Mansion stage updated to have a Halloween aesthetic
– Gives you access to multiple sets of clothing when you access the Pokkén WEB portal
– Mismagius uses the Ominous Wind move
– This hits for damage and increases attack power
– Ninetales uses Will-O-Wisp
– This sends out a small flame in front of your playable Pokémon
