Sunsoft virtual event announced for August 18

Sunsoft will be hosting a new virtual event on August 18, the developer and publisher revealed today. The broadcast will cover upcoming titles for 2022 and 2023.
Sunsoft was one of the first publishers licensed to publish games for the Nintendo Entertainment System in North America. It made classic titles for both original properties and major licenses, such as Batman. The company’s games included Spy Hunter, Aero the Acro-bat, Blaster Master, and Uforia: The Saga.

Horizon Chase Turbo update out now (version 2.5), Adventures Mode added

A major 2.5 update has just been released for Horizon Chase Turbo.
After installing the patch, players can access a new Adventures Mode. It includes new circuits, 34 new skins, and at least of 8 hours of content.

Kirby’s Dream Buffet releasing August 17

Original: At the end of the Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Fest Live, it was announced that Kirby’s Dream Buffet will release next week on August 17 in Japan via the eShop. There is no word yet on whether this launch date will apply to other regions, which currently still have a Summer 2022 release window. In Japan, the game will cost 1500 yen.

Action adventure Reknum: Fantasy of Dreams coming to Switch

Developer NapeGames announced today via Twitter that Reknum: Fantasy of Dreams will be coming to Switch. The first game in the Reknum series was released back in January 2020 on Switch via the eShop, and this game is set to continue the story, with similar action-adventure gameplay. The game currently has an expected November 21 release on Steam, so it may also arrive on Nintendo’s console around this time.

Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Fest Live

The previously announced Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Fest is being performed today, and is being live streamed, giving those unable to attend the concert in person a chance to listen. Fans interested can catch up on the stream below:
On March 25, Kirby and the Forgotten Land was released on Switch, and has gone on to become the best-selling Kirby title to date. Kirby’s Dream Buffet has also been announced with a currently unspecified release date but with a release window of Summer 2022.
The first Kirby game, Kirby’s Dream Land, originally released in 1992 for the Game Boy. Nintendo and HAL Laboratory have launched many mainline and spinoff titles since then across various platforms.

Undertale creator Toby Fox has composed music tracks for Pokemon Scarlet / Violet

Original (6/1): Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale, has confirmed that he composed a few music tracks for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet.
According to Fox, he was heavily involved with the field music. Once he made a concept sketch, “Game Freak arranged it into many versions that you’ll hear throughout the game.” Fans can actually get a small taste of Fox’s work as it was featured in the new trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, available here.

2D action platformer Guns N’ Runs heading to Switch

Publisher PixelHeart, along with Statera Studio, have announced that Guns N’ Runs is in the works for Switch. The game will be available in Q4 2022.
