In the early days of Pokemon – we’re talking back on Game Boy – many Pokemon suffered from incredibly small movepools. For example, Scyther didn’t have access to a single Flying-type move in Red and Blue despite being a half Flying-type itself. Fortunately, the developers have fixed this issue over the years, and now many Pokemon have huge movepools. That being said, certain move decisions are questionable at best. Some Pokemon have access to certain moves that don’t make a ton of sense thematically, and today we’re going over a big list of some of the strangest movepool additions in the Pokemon series.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem release date

July 11: Outright Games just came through with a release date for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed. The game will be out for Switch on October 18, 2024.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed was properly announced back in March. In May, news was shared about the special editions, which you can find here.

Lucha Libre: Legend of the Mask

Lucha Libre: Legend of the Mask is in development for Switch, BC Media Lab and Hyperkinetic Studios announced today. The game is targeting a March 2025 launch.

Lucha Libre: Legend of the Mask is a 2D side-scrolling beat ’em up game. Up to four players can team up and perform moves to take down enemies.

Starting today, Switch owners can get their hands on a brand new demo for RPG Maker With. The trial is being made available ahead of next month’s launch.

Additionally, NIS America announced the RPG Maker With Wiki – which you can access here. This is designed to assist players with mastering the title’s tools. The Wiki covers everything from how to make a game in ten minutes to in-depth guides for seasoned creators.

Duck Detective physical

Heads up for Duck Detective fans: a physical release is on the way. Super Rare Games shared plans about the packaged edition today.

4,000 copies will be available on the company’s website. Aside from the game, each copy comes with four character stickers and standees postcards.

Moonstone Island Festival update, Autumn-themed DLC

More content is coming soon to Moonstone Island, the creature-collecting life-sim, with a Festival content update and Autumn-themed DLC. Both will be available for Switch on September 30, 2024.

Players can enjoy new content through the free update. Meanwhile, the paid DLC provides additional decorations that will be unlocked.

Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream release date

July 2: Thanks to Bandai Namco, we’ve got the release date for Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream. Switch will be receiving it on October 3, 2024.

Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream was first announced during a Nintendo Direct back in February. Although Bandai Namco committed to a 2024 window, nothing more specific was shared until now.

Atelier Ryza optimization update

In celebration of the Atelier Ryza series’ fifth anniversary, an optimization update has been released for all games. Atelier Ryza moves up to version 1.0.9, Atelier Ryza 2 is at version 1.0.8, and Atelier Ryza 3 players can download version 1.7.0.

For Atelier Ryza, auto-save has been added as well as other options. Atelier Ryza 2 and 3 gained a “Very Easy” difficulty.

As the launch for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom approaches, retailers are starting to reveal pre-order bonuses and we’re rounding them all up here. This post will be updated leading up to release.

Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a big release for the franchise as Zelda herself is the main protagonist you’ll be playing as throughout the adventure. Even though there’s talk of Link being playable as well, the princess should still have the starring role. Zelda will be using the Tri Rod to create “echoes” to solve puzzles and defeat enemies.
