Yacht Club Games: Switch is “definitely going to be our main focus”

It’s no secret that Shovel Knight has done very well on Nintendo platforms. The game sold well on Wii U despite the platform’s overall disappointing performance and it managed to sell another truckload of copies on Switch a few years later. Based on how Shovel Knight has sold on Nintendo systems and Switch in particular, it’s no surprise that Yacht Club Games is very much interested in that console going forward.
Speaking with GamesIndustry, Yacht Club COO James Chan said the following about Shovel Knight and how it was one of the first wave of third-party games on Switch as well as Wii U:

Mario Kart Tour gacha rates revealed

Mario Kart Tour has a different way of unlocking characters and vehicles compared to previous entries in the series. Tying in with its mobile roots, they have a certain rarity type and appearance rate. Content can be unlocked at random by launching the “Pipe” after completing races or getting involved with microtransactions.
We now have some additional information as to how the Pipe works. Each one has 100 launches in total, though players are guaranteed to receive the time-sensitive Tour Spotlight items like Pauline within those 100. Although Pipes can be reset, there’s no guarantee of being given all unique items within its use. Obtaining duplicate items can cause a character’s, kart’s or glider’s skill level to increase.

Reventure arriving on Switch next month

Pixelatto is bringing its 2D platform puzzler Reventure to Switch next month, the developer announced today. Its launch is currently scheduled for October 8.

Thanks to a listing on the eShop, we now have a release date for the Touhou Project puzzle game Marisa and Alice’s Trap Tower. At least it Japan, the game is slated for October 4.

Rabi-Ribi launches for Switch on October 17

After it was announced last January, Rabi-Ribi has finally been dated for Switch. An eShop listing shows a release date of October 17.

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition features improved animations on Switch

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition is largely the same game on Switch as it has been on other platforms. However, developer Moon Studios did make one noteworthy improvement.
When the game originally released, Ori’s sprites were animated at 30 frames per second. But now on Switch, they’ve been updated to 60 FPS. This was achieved thanks to continued improvements with Moon Studios’ engine, director Thomas Mahler says.
Pokemon GO to host World Tourism Day event

Niantic has announced a new World Tourism Day event for Pokemon GO. Starting tomorrow, players can participate in a number of activities. A new T-shirt will be available in addition to region-limited Pokemon in Eggs, Mime Jr. will be appearing for the first time, specially themed Field Research tasks are planned, and more.
