Following in the footsteps of Pokemon Origins, Pokemon Generations has been announced. It’s a new animated series that revisits each generation of the Pokemon games “to shed new light on some timeless moments.” We’ll see “the earliest days in the Kanto region to the splendor of the Kalos region”.

18 episodes of Pokemon Generations will air each week through December 23. You can expect each one to be around three to five minutes long.

The first two episodes of Pokemon Generations debuts this Friday at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM in the UK / 6 PM in Europe on The Pokemon Company’s YouTube channel. Check out some art below.

Some new Paper Mario: Color Splash has been appearing today following the release of several new media previews. In one video, we’re able to see the return of a certain familiar enemy. If you’ve played practically any Mario game, the appearance shouldn’t be surprising, though it’s slightly different than we’re used to. A few new images of CoroCoro have surfaced, showing the two forms (Day and Night) of Lugarugan. Thanks to Serebii’s translations, the pages also show at least some of the differences between the two forms, with the Day form learning a move (potentially called Accel Rock) and the Night form learning Counter. You can check out both pictures below:

Pokémon Shuffle players are in for a big week with its usual update. Most notable is a new competitive battle against Mega Alakazam, where qualifying players can get Alakazite for the first time. The top 19,000 players in North America, 13,000 in Europe and 60,000 in Japan will get the Mega Stone. Other prizes are as follows:
-Skill Swapper: Top 1,000 (EU), 1,600 (NA), and 5,000 (JP)
-Mega Speedup: Top 4,200 (EU), 6,400 (NA), and 20,000 (JP)
-Disruption Delay: Top 4,201-19,000 (EU), 6,401-26,000 (NA), and 20,001-80,000 (JP)
-Attack Power: All players who don’t get the Alakazite
The competition will run until September 20.

There are also several regular stages. There is a new battle against Golem, as well as fights against Yveltal, Darkrai, and the Daily Pokémon (#6) challenge. The last of those will switch daily between Lunatone, Tyrogue, Castform, Mantyke and Solrock. The Yveltal challenge runs until September 20, while the others run until the 27th.

According to Slice Intelligence, the paying population of Pokemon GO has declined by 79% since July of 2016.

The mobile game industry is a notoriously fickle one, as it seems even the titanic Pokemon GO is losing some of its thunder. The number of in-game buyers within Pokemon GO has decreased by 79% since July 15th, and Pokemon GO is no longer more profitable than all other mobile games combined. Despite this, Pokemon GO still maintains its position as the most profitable mobile game on the market. Specifically, it has generated around six times more revenue than the second most profitable mobile game in the month of August.

Yacht Club Games has been hard at work on Shovel Knight’s next campaign. Today, the studio shared an update as to when it’ll be available.

The campaign is still quite far off actually. In an image posted to Yacht Club Games’ Twitter, a release window of Spring 2017 was announced. We also have a final name: “Specter of Torment”.
