3DS eShop

Digger Dan DX was pulled from the 3DS eShop back in July. First Star Software, who owns the Boulder Dash rights, asked Nintendo to remove Four Horses’ game. The two companies were thankfully able to settle all issues, and Digger Dan DX will now be returning to the eShop today.

Those who already own Digger Dan DX will find new content awaiting them. 25 new caves with gems and traps are included, and can be accessed for free.

Four Horses is also holding the following competition:

“To celebrate the re-launch, Four Horses have decided to hold a competition for the first player to get 125 gold stars in the game. The prize is a cheque for £250 (or similar value in your local currency) and the competition is open worldwide to anyone who has bought the game. Existing players do have a head start, but the new Bonus levels are tough enough to give new players a chance to catch up. For full details of the competition, check the Four Horses website http://www.fourhorses.co.uk”

Futuridium EP Deluxe previously came to Wii U, and it’s now coming to the New 3DS tomorrow. Take a look at a video of the game below.

Another game is joining the North American New 3DS Virtual Console very soon. As of tomorrow, Konami’s Super Castlevania IV will be available, Nintendo’s website confirms.

Super Castlevania IV’s official description is as follows:

“In the peaceful country of Transylvania, there is a legend of an evil castle and its master, the Prince of Darkness, Dracula. Once every hundred years, the powers of good mysteriously weaken, and evil attempts to resurrect Dracula. It’s up to the Belmont clan to take up the eternal fight against the vampire. Players take on the role of Simon Belmont, armed with the legendary whip, Vampire Killer, to defeat Dracula and his evil minions. Luckily, Simon has many additional weapons at his disposal, including axes, holy water, crosses, knives and even a magical stopwatch that can stop the flow of time for a spell. Simon must travel through 11 stages, beginning in the countryside, to reach Dracula’s Castle, all the while overcoming perilous traps and hideous monsters. Only the power of the Belmonts can quell the looming darkness.”

Super Castlevania IV will be priced at $7.99.

More:

In a recent interview with Real Otaku Gamer, Antipole developer Edward Di Geronimo spoke about why they decided to publish their game on the Wii U, and how much has changed between the original Antipole, a DSiWare title, and the new Antipole DX.

When asked about what kind of additional content can be expected in Antipole DX, Geronimo said this:

There’s not a lot left that’s the same! The code is largely the same, but we’ve replaced all the assets. The graphics are all new, with a pixel art style that feels like a 16-bit era game. Last time around the audio side of the game suffered due to the tight space restrictions of DSiWare. The music and sound effects are all new this time around, and are much higher quality now that we don’t have to worry about space restrictions. Players familiar with the original game will still find plenty of surprises in the DX version. The levels have all been recreated from scratch. I usually tried to stay faithful to the original designs, but there are plenty of cases where I removed or changed sections that I wasn’t happy with. I made sure to add new sections to every level, and also included several all new levels. The DX version is on track to have about 50% more rooms than the original game did.

On publishing Antipole DX on the Wii U, Geronimo had this to say:

Nintendo has been developing high quality platformer games for decades. I think their audience is highly receptive to them. They also have a core audience that’s been gaming on their systems for decades. This crowd grew up playing pixel art platformers. I think the audience is going to be very receptive toward games like Antipole DX.
