The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

This week’s issue of Famitsu has a year-end feature with tons of developers and industry members. Representatives from Square Enix, Capcom, Bandai Namco, Koei Tecmo, PlatinumGames, and other companies were asked to rank their top five games played from January to December. Others participated as well such as several voice actors.

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. This week, Project Octopath Traveler enters the top ten for the first time.

Below are the latest Nintendo products that can be currently pre-ordered at retailers:

Yo-kai Watch Busters 2 launched in Japan on December 16. First week sales were reported this week. Through December 17, the game sold just over 200,000 copies.

According to Dengeki, the “Sword” version was slightly more popular at 100,118 units sold. The “Magnum” version sold 95,794 copies.

Nintendo has another round of game-specific maintenance taking place tomorrow. Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo, Pokemon Sun/Moon, and Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon will all be impacted.

The maintenance schedule is as follows:

– 5 PM PT (December 25) – 7 PM PT (December 25)
– 8 PM ET (December 25) – 10 PM ET (December 25)
– 1 AM in the UK (December 26) – 3 AM in the UK (December 26)
– 2 AM in Europe (December 26) – 4 AM in Europe (December 26)

Atlus hosted a live talk show event for Etrian Odyssey’s 10th anniversary last week. A few vague details were shared about the project, including that it will not be Etrian Odyssey 3 Untold and surprising content will be included.

GamesIndustry has provided new information about gaming sales in the UK this year. The site breaks down the top five publishers by UK sales as well as sales by platform.

In terms of publishers, Nintendo ranks third when it comes to boxed sales. That’s behind EA (16.8%) and Activision Blizzard (15.6%), but ahead of Ubisoft (9.7%) and Sony (8.3%).
