Raji: An Ancient Epic Enhanced Edition update

Nearly a year after its original debut, it’s been announced that Raji: An Ancient Epic is receiving a major Enhanced Edition update on Switch next week – specifically July 28, 2022.

The patch adds new game modes and features, makes improvements, and fixes bugs. Campaign, Story, and One Shot One Kill are the game modes. There are even new variations for all enemy types to encounter.

The full patch notes for the Raji: An Ancient Epic Enhanced Edition update are as follows:

Aniquilation

Original (7/5): Today, publisher Gamera Games and developer R-Next revealed that they’re putting Aniquilation on Switch. The twin-stick shooter will be available sometime this summer.

Here’s what’s been shared about the project thus far:

Nintendo had previously confirmed that they were ending purchases on the 3DS and Wii U eShops sometime in late March 2023. They’ve now provided additional details, citing March 27, 2023 as the day that purchases on these eShops will become unavailable.

They’ve also clarified that starting August 29, 2022, you’ll no longer be able to directly add funds to the Wii U and 3DS eShops. You will however be able to redeem download codes after this date, and if you’ve linked your Nintendo Network ID to your Nintendo Account, you’ll still be able to make purchases using shared funds added to your Nintendo Account. The final bit of news is that oddly enough, purchases of Fire Emblem Fates on the 3DS eShop will end one month earlier than the rest, on February 28, 2023. However DLC for the game, including the additional story paths accessible after Chapter 6, will still be available until March 27, 2023.

Here is some additional information from Nintendo:

Air Missions: HIND physical

Nicalis is preparing a physical release for Air Missions: HIND on Switch, the company has announced. It will be available on September 22, 2022.

Air Missions: HIND, an action flight simulator, originally debuted on Switch in 2020. It was initially made available on the eShop only.

Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony physical

Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony won’t have a physical version in the west, but that’s not the case in Japan. CFK is readying a boxed edition for the region. Even better, this is the latest example of a physical release in Japan that includes support for English.

If you’re interested in adding a physical copy of Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony to your Switch collecting, importing seems to be the only option at present. Thankfully, since Switch is region-free, you’ll be able to play through the game regardless of which you purchased the system from. Everything you need to know about this can be found in our previous article here.

nintendo switch eshop games

Out of nowhere, Nintendo announced Kirby’s Dream Buffet last week as an eShop exclusive. This is a small and cute co-op experience perfect for Kirby. Although it doesn’t happen too often, I appreciate the fact that Nintendo still publishes some smaller games like that on the eShop. Most of the time these experiences show tons of creativity, bringing new ideas to the console.

However, I think a lot of the titles published by Nintendo could receive more attention and promotion. Sometimes I feel that great experiences like Good Job! or The Stretchers get a little lost in the gigantic amount of games published on the eShop. In the video below, I discuss why Nintendo’s overall strategy to promote these games could be more active than it is and I share some ideas as to how they could be in the spotlight a bit more.
