We’ve seen the original Switch, the Switch Lite, and now the Switch OLED. Everyone will be able to pick up the system as of tomorrow, October 8.

In an official interview published by Nintendo today, key developers behind the console spoke about the console’s origins. Ko Shiota, the head of the Technology Development Division, as well as Toru Yamashita of the Technology Development Department both weighed in.

Gameplay has come in for Jack Axe, an open world platforming adventure inspired by Filipino and Norse mythology. The title landed on Switch earlier today.

Regency Solitaire

After a strong reception on PC, Regency Solitaire is making the jump to Switch. Developer Grey Alien Games has announced that it will have a new version ready to go for the console on October 19.

Regency Solitaire has players taking on the role of Bella, a charming high-society girl who must win back her family’s wealth after her brother, Edward, gambled it all away. At the same time, she’ll be looking to take charge of her own destiny and avoid an arranged marriage with the odious Mr. Bleakley.

Nintendo and MercurySteam have come out with one final report for Metroid Dread. Today’s piece covers a few points the dev team worked particularly hard on for the game’s design, visuals, programming, sound effects, and music.

Rune Factory 5 limited edition

XSEED and Marvelous today unveiled a limited edition for Rune Factory 5 in North America (known as the “Earthmate Edition in the states) and Europe.

All copies will include a custom outer box featuring artwork from series illustrator Minako Iwasaki, a copy of the game in an exclusive steelbook case, large 5.8” by 8.2” softcover artbook with over 70 pages of character illustrations, concept art, and more, a ‘Melodies of Norad’ soundtrack CD featuring 15 songs specially selected from across the entire Rune Factory series, and 13 exclusive in-game costumes based on the marriage candidates (+ Dolce’s ghostly companion Pico) from Rune Factory. Pricing is set at $79.99 / £64.99 / €79.99.

Monomals

Monomals, a puzzle-platformer that previously appeared on Apple Arcade, is now coming to Switch. Publisher Rogue Games and developer PICOMY announced that the title will be available on October 21.

The premise behind Monomals is that a big music contest is taking place amongst the world’s best animal DJs. Players can choose from a variety of DJs, each with a different style of music. The primary goal is to gather the melodious Monomals and then create music with them in a quest to become the greatest animal DJ.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmo

Square Enix and Eidos Montreal are back with a new video for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy ahead of its release this month that puts the focus on Cosmo the space dog. The cutscene highlights an interaction with the character and the Guardians.

The cutscene takes place within Cosmo’s base on Knowhere. He chases his tail, plays fetch and growls menacingly at Rocket, all while discussing a shared interest in getting to the bottom of the latest galactic mysteries with Star-Lord.

Kathy Rain Director's Cut

Kathy Rain, a point-and-click mystery adventure game from 2016, is now making its way to Switch as part of a new Director’s Cut from Raw Fury and Clifftop Games. The title is slated for October 26.
