Guns of Fury

Gelato Games, the team behind Goblin Sword, passed along word that its upcoming project Guns of Fury will be made for Switch. It’s targeting a release in 2024.

Guns of Fury is a retro-style pixel art action platformer. It features a mix of Metroidvania action and run-and-gun elements, which you can think of as Contra/Metal Slug meets Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Dominic Ninmark (Blazing Chrome, Gravity Circuit, Mighty Goose) has been brought on for the soundtrack.

Play Together sale Switch

Nintendo just kicked off a new Play Together sale on the Switch eShop. A bunch of its own games are included such as Mario Tennis Aces, Hyrule Warriors, Nintendo Switch Sports, and ARMS. On top of that, a lot of third-party titles have been discounted.

Panic and the international team behind Arco today announced that the game is set to appear on Switch. A release is scheduled for August 15, 2024.

Arco is a turn-based tactical RPG that also features RPG and narrative elements. It follows four characters in their quest for revenge against the Red Company gang.

Trade Tales

Trade Tales is now confirmed for release on Switch. The project recently took to Kickstarter where it previously reached its funding target, but now console support support is happening after a stretch goal was reached. That means we’ll be seeing it on Switch down the road.

For those that are unaware, Trade Tales is a mix of modern-life farming sim and entrepreneurial adventures. While you’ll be doing things like farming, you’ll also manage a factory, open a own shop, host events, and more.

Billy Bumbum

Billy Bumbum is getting a release on Switch, publisher Bonus Stage and developer Frambosa Games announced today. The game launches digitally on August 8, 2024.

Billy Bumbum is a puzzle game at its core that promises “surprisingly deep and satisfying ways to rescue your friends”. Over 250 levels are included.

Harry Potter Quidditch Champions delay no microtransations

Warner Bros. Games shared the latest on Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions today, including news about a delay for the Switch version, a new trailer, and confirmation of no microtransactions. 

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will now be launching on Switch this holiday. Previously, it was slated for September 3 alongside the other versions.

Warner Bros. also put out a new “Welcome Students” pre-order trailer for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions. The video highlights the single-player Career Mode and Online Competitive Mode as offers a sneak peek at the character creator and a few of the iconic playable characters, such as Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy. Fans are also treated to a glimpse of the Quidditch World Cup Stadium, as well as some of the magical arenas set in iconic wizarding world locations.

The latest UK software sales chart for the week ending July 27, 2024 is now available.

Hogwarts Legacy continues to hold on to the top spot. Elsewhere, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD slips a bit, but is still in the top five. Pokemon Scarlet and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle also reappeared.
