Niantic has announced that Magikarp will be the next Pokemon featured for the latest Pokemon GO Community Day. The event itself will be held on August 8.

Asterix & Obelix XXL

Microids today announced its full lineup for the remainder of 2020. As part of that, a number of new Switch games have been announced.

One of the main highlights is Asterix & Obelix XXL, a redone version of the 2004 game. Other upcoming titles include Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, Agatha Christie: The ABC Murders, The Bluecoats: North & South, Professor Rubik’s Brain Fitness, School Teacher, Fashion Boutique, Cooking Star Restaurant, and Pet Clinic Cats & Dogs. My Baby is also seeing a summer release.

Pokemon GO Fest 2020 proved to be a massive success for developer Niantic. During the two-day event, players spent a total of $17.5 million.

According to Sensor Tower data, $8.9 million was generated on July 25. That was followed up with another $8.6 million on July 26. The $8.9 million made this past Saturday was the highest amount Pokemon GO collected since July 29, 2016, when players spent $13.3 million.

Pokemon GO has earned $539 million since the start of 2020 and $3.7 billion since its 2016 launch.

Spitlings

The action arcade game Spitlings will arrive on Switch next week, publisher HandyGames and developer Massive Miniteam have announced. A release is scheduled for August 4.

Shing!

Today, Mass Creation announced that the side-scrolling arcade action game Shing! will launch for Switch on August 28. It will be sold digitally via the eShop.

Alongside today’s news, a developer diary has been released that outlines the game’s inspirations and creation. We have that below along with more information about the project.

During an interview with Geoff Keighley as part of Summer Games Fest, Studio MDHR shared an update on Cuphead’s The Delicious Last Course DLC.

COO Maja Moldenhauer mentioned that 2020 “just threw everyone for a loop, and we’re still working on it.” The DLC is “taking us a little longer than we thought, but we want to make it a memorable experience,” she said.

Moldenhauer also teased that The Delicious Last Course will have “some of our most detailed and complex animations that we’ve ever done.

Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath - Summer Heat Skin Pack

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios today revealed the first of three upcoming character skin packs for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath. With the Summer Heat Skin Pack, players will gain access to Kitana dressed in seasonal Edenian attire as “Endless Summer Kitana,” Baraka prepping his barbecue as “Off the Bone Baraka,” and Erron Black donning a red, white, and blue patriotic suit and top hat as “Fireworks Erron Black.”

The first skin pack launches August 6 for all Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath owners. The Klassic Femme Fatale Skin Pack follows on August 25, and the All Hallows’ Eve Skin Pack drops on October 8. The next packs will also include three new character skins each. More information will be announced at a later date.

Speed 3: Grand Prix

Lion Castle and GS2 Games today announced Speed 3: Grand Prix, a new action-packed arcade track racing game. It will launch for Switch at the end of 2020.

Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid

nWay has announced that a collector’s edition for Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid will be distributed at retail in October. It’ll include the never-been-released new character, Lauren Shiba. Those that pre-order the game can receive two copies of the Green Ranger V2 skin (players will get one for themselves and one for a friend).
