3D platformer Boti: Byteland Overclocked incoming for Nintendo Switch

Publisher Untold Tales and developer Purple Ray Studio are putting Boti: Byteland Overclocked on Nintendo Switch, the two sides revealed today. The game isn’t too far off – it’s scheduled for January 10, 2025.
Boti: Byteland Overclocked is a colorful, co-operative 3D platformer inspired by classics like Super Mario Galaxy and Croc but with modern twists and innovations. Players will double jump, dash, hover, and glide through vibrant levels, discovering fantastic combos. The Nintendo Switch version features the base game and all four DLC packs that add new game modes, special gameplay mechanics, additional skins, holiday-themed levels and more.

Nintendo Switch has now overtaken the PlayStation 2 in terms of hardware sales in the United States. That’s according to the latest report from Circana, which just went up a few minutes ago.
Total sales of the Nintendo Switch in the U.S. now stand at 46.6 million. It is the second best-selling gaming system in the region, only trailing the DS.

New data from Circana gives us a look at the best-selling games of November 2024 specifically on Nintendo Switch.
Super Mario Party Jamboree was again the overall top seller. Right behind it though are Mario & Luigi: Brothership and MySims: Cozy Bundle, two new games.

Circana has released a listing of the top ten best-selling games in the U.S. for the month of November 2024.
In its first month, Mario & Luigi: Brothership comes in at #7. However, it’s actually a different Nintendo exclusive that charts higher – that being Super Mario Party Jamboree at #6. Dragon Quest 3 and MySims: Cozy Bundle also appear in the top twenty.

Mediascape and Birdkin Studio today announced a partnership on Curry Princess Gold, which will see the game launch on Nintendo Switch. It’s slated for 2025.
Curry Princess Gold is a casual action game from Saori Utsumi and Hideaki Utsumi. Both previously worked at Capcom.

Hamster have revealed Warrior Blade as its latest Arcade Archives game on Nintendo Switch. It’ll be available everywhere tomorrow, December 19.
Warrior Blade, an action game, was originally released by Taito in 1992. Set in the remote country of Depon, the bandit Rastan and his friends embark on an adventure, and players can choose from three different characters to play.
The game will be sold digitally on the Switch eShop. Pricing is set at $7.99 / €6.99 / £6.29. Access more coverage on the Arcade Archives series here.

Poppy Playtime Triple Pack Nintendo Switch physical release on the way

Poppy Playtime Triple Pack is heading to Nintendo Switch at retail, according to store listings. The package is carrying an estimated launch date of April 3, 2025.
The Poppy Playtime series has previously come to Nintendo Switch as digital games. However, fans will now be able to experience the first three entries together physically on the console. There’s no mention of a required download, so everything should be included on the cartridge.

Following up on its digital launch not too long ago, Nine Sols will be receiving the physical treatment on Nintendo Switch. That news comes from Fangamer, the company in charge of production.
Nine Sols will be sold physically in both North America and Europe. We’re waiting on more of the specifics, but fans can currently sign up to be notified about availability here.

Unpacking dev unhappy with Nintendo for not taking action against “cheap fakes”

December 16: Unpacking creative director Wren Brier has expressed frustration on social media over Nintendo’s lack of action concerning “cheap fakes”.
Unpacking launched on Nintendo Switch at the end of 2021 to much success. However, searching for that name now also brings up “Unpacking Universe Dreams” from CGI Lab – which released in late October – along with various DLC (including a bundle for that title). Brier reported the game to Nintendo, but the company apparently hasn’t responded.
