try before you buy Switch eShop sale Metroid Dread

Nintendo has just started a new “Try Before You Buy Sale” on the Switch eShop, and it includes the lowest price yet for Metroid Dread.

The sale includes a bunch of games that have demos. Outside of Metroid, there are other first and third-party titles such as Triangle Strategy, ARMS, Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series, Miitopia, WarioWare: Get It Together!, Yoshi’s Crafted World, and more.

How to Say Goodbye

Arte, along with Florian Veltman and Baptiste Portefaix, today announced that How to Say Goodbye will be appearing on Switch next month. The puzzle title will be ready to go on November 3, 2022.

How to Say Goodbye follows a character a few moments after their death, recounting their journey in an unknown world after life. Players will need to help the ghost accept his death and pass to the other side in this liminal space after life, populated by various spirits, some of them benevolent. The game involves moving different elements on a grid to guide the ghost to the exit symbolized by a door, though they’ll need to overcome obstacles and lost spirits along the way.

The Pinball Wizard

Frosty Pop is putting The Pinball Wizard on Switch this month, the studio announced today. The game originally appeared on Apple Arcade, but will now hit Nintendo’s console on October 27, 2022.

The Pinball Wizard features a mix of dungeon delving progression and bite-sized arcade pinball action in which players bend physics to their will with magical abilities. Read more about it below.

TOEM Basto

Original (9/12): In celebration of TOEM’s first anniversary, Something We Made is readying a new update for the game that will add the brand new Basto region.

This is said to be the game’s biggest region yet. It features new quests, secrets, mini-games, and animals to photograph.

Robotry! release date

Lockpickle has determined a release date for Robotry!, its chaotic puzzle-platformer. It will be available for Switch on October 26, 2022.

Tropico: Nintendo Switch Edition update 1.0.5

A major 1.5.0 update has gone live for Tropico: Nintendo Switch Edition.

Included in the patch is new content, including new maps, the helpful Resource Overview, the “Secure Mansion“, new modern military building, the “Overwatchtower”, and more. With the Overwatchtower, players have the ability to uncover hidden roles of passing Tropicans. Lots of improvements and bug fixes are also available.

Insomnis

Original (9/28): Today, Meridiem Games announced a partnership with Path Games to bring the first-person horror game Insomnis to Switch. It will be available by the end of 2022.

Insomnis will come with Switch-specific gameplay features including a redesigned interaction system for play with the Joy-Con and HD Rumble. Additionally, touch screen usage will be supported in which players can interact with objects or solve puzzles. The game will run at a resolution of 720p in portable mode and 1080p in docked mode.

Gameplay footage of The Battle of Polytopia has emerged, to coincide with its release on Switch via the eShop today. A total of twenty six minutes of the turn-based strategy game are available.
