Virtuos Switch ports

There are a few go-to studios for Switch ports these days, including Virtuos. The company has been around since the console released with new versions of games like L.A. Noire, and has continued to support the console since then. Some of its recent work, including Dying Light and NieR: Automata, are said to be among the more impressive ports on Switch.

Virtuos CEO Gilles Langourieux opened up about the team’s approach to Switch ports in a recent issue of Famitsu. Here’s what was shared on that subject:

MAR10 Day sale 2023

Original (3/2): Nintendo has passed along an announcement covering all of the plans it has in store for MAR10 Day, which is dedicated to Mario.

We already mentioned the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 4 release date and new Switch bundle. A few other things are planned, including a special sale.

Switch sixth anniversary

It’s a special day for Nintendo, as the company launched Switch exactly six years ago. The system released on March 3, 2017.

Not even Nintendo could have predicted the success Switch has seen over the years. Over 120 million units have been sold, making it the second best-selling platform for the Big N (behind DS) and third best across the industry as a whole (the original PlayStation holds the record).


Crymachina

Original (2/28): FuRyu has announced Crymachina, a new action RPG for Switch. NIS America will be publishing the game in the west this fall.

Here’s what’s been shared thus far:

Islets physical

Islets previously came out on the Switch eShop, but a physical version is now in the works thanks to Super Rare ames.

4,000 copies will be made in total. Each unit contains all current content on its cart at the time of printing, a full-color manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker, and trading cards.

The latest update for Redemption Reapers has been released, bringing the game to version 1.0.3. Whilst this version only adjusts the availability of skirmishes, publisher Binary Haze Interactive have released patch notes for the more extensive version 1.0.4., which is due to be released next week on March 10. Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass Wave 3 DLC

Fire Emblem Engage will be getting the third round of its Expansion Pass DLC, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have announced. This is planned for March 8 in Japan, so that should be March 7 in North America.

The Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass Wave 3 DLC will add another round of Emblems and missions to recruit them. These include Chrom and Robin, Emblem of Bonds, and Veronica, Emblem of Heroes.

Capcom Spotlight

A Capcom Spotlight presentation will air on March 9, Capcom just announced. It will kick off at 2:30 PM PT / 5:30 PM ET / 10:30 PM in the UK / 11:30 PM in Europe. Expect it to last about 26 minutes.

The event will cover “updates and new information about our upcoming games.” The lineup includes Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, Ghost Trick, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Resident Evil 4, and Exoprimal are confirmed for the show. Those first three are all Switch titles.

Metroid Fusion Switch Online

Metroid Fusion is coming to Nintendo Switch Online as the next Game Boy Advance game, Nintendo just announced. It will be available to all Expansion Pack tier members on March 8, 2023.

Metroid Fusion originally came out in 2002 – it actually arrived at the same time as Metroid Prime. It’s the fourth entry in the 2D Metroid series.
