When Switch was announced, many developers who were planning Wii U projects jumped ship over to the new console. However, Graphite Lab stuck to its guns and remained on track to bring Hive Jump to the older system. Just this past week, the game finally launched on the eShop.

Graphite Lab’s Matt Raithel reflected on the whole process in a new blog published on Gamasutra this week. In one section, he explains why the team was committed to the Wii U version, writing:

This week’s European Nintendo Downloads are as follows:

FIFA 18 – €59.99 (available Tuesday)
One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition – €59.99 (available Friday)

Golf Story

This week’s North American Nintendo Downloads are as follows:

FIFA 18 – $59.99 (available Friday)

Much like in Europe a few weeks ago, My Nintendo has updated with a few Wii U and 3DS games as rewards. Four are currently available.

Zen Pinball 3D (3DS) – 50 Gold Points
Super Little Acorns 3D Turbo (3DS) – 60 Gold Points
Art of Balance (Wii U) – 70 Gold Points
Runner2 (Wii U) – 90 Gold Points

All of these rewards can be ordered on My Nintendo here.

The Wii U Virtual Console keeps going strong thanks to Konami. Tomorrow, Double Dungeons will be hitting the eShop in North America.

Nintendo’s website contains the following overview:

Defeat monsters in each dungeon to gain experience while searching for the “key” that opens the door to the room with the boss. Buy equipment at the shop, team up with characters, and defeat the boss to clear a scenario. Conquer all 21 scenarios from levels 1 through 5 to obtain passwords. Obtain all of them to make your way to the final scenario! Two players can play at the same time, which makes this game truly stand out from the rest.

Double Dungeons will be priced at $5.99.
