With Star Fox Zero, Nintendo and PlatinumGames were targeting 60 frames per second. Digital Foundry takes a look at the game in its latest piece, and sees if this goal was achieved.

Based on the analysis, Star Fox Zero doesn’t always manage to stay at 60 FPS. Digital Foundry tested two stages: Corneria and Sector Alpha. In Corneria, the game dips to around 50 FPS. And in Sector Alpha, it can go as low as 40 FPS at times.

The reason behind the dips can almost certainly be attributed to the fact that Star Fox Zero renders two different viewpoints – one for the TV (1280×720), and another for the GamePad (854×480). When combined, the overall pixel output is higher than the average Wii U game.

We have some new b-roll footage from Star Fox Zero. There are three videos in total, two of which show views from both the TV and GamePad. For the third, we have a look at a training mission. You can get a look at all of the footage below.

A few days ago, Australian publication Stack put up a new interview with Shigeru Miyamoto. As you would expect, it was focused mainly on Star Fox Zero. He discussed the GamePad integration, shared first word on the game’s Arcade More, and more. Miyamoto also addressed two general topics: revisiting Nintendo franchises and trying to appeal to new/old players.

A number of Miyamoto’s responses can be found after the break. For the full interview, head on over here.

This month, Avex Group (in conjunction with SHOWROOM and Decoo), will be holding a public audition for a voice acting position in a new role-playing game. Japanese blog Hachima Kikou speculates that the news could hint at a follow-up of some kind to Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. It’s noteworthy as Avex produced the music in that very Wii U game.

There is no guarantee, but Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE will have a strong presence at the event. In fact, participants will be asked to perform a song from the Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Vocal Collection. A couple of the judges were also involved with the title. Avex does have significant recognition in the music industry, though the company hasn’t worked on too many video game projects – the most prominent one being Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE.

Since launching last December, Minecraft: Wii U Edition has only been sold as an eShop title. However, that will be changing in the near future.

The official Minecraft Twitter account sent out a message today confirming that Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be getting a disc version “soon”. A specific date was not included in the tweet.

Here’s the relevant message:
