LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will retell the story of the film. However, Warner Bros. and TT Games are also adding in more levels set before the movie, according to developer Mike Taylor. This will allow the team “to explore some of the backstory of the characters” with “lots of exclusive stuff” that uses “content in some of the other additional materials that Lucasfilm have been involved in.”

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will have six missions that will are being incorporated as bridge content. Players can access them after finishing a story mission based on the film, after every hour or two. They’re also all options and won’t be unlocked until a certain amount of gold bricks are found.

Game Informer outlines some of what we can look forward to from the exclusive missions:

Activision and FreeStyleGames have announced the Guitar Hero Live “Shred-a-Thon”, a special 5-day marathon that will feature the debut of Through the Fire and Flames by Dragonforce. Shred-a-Thon is live now on a special third channel in GHTV. It’ll run until Monday, February 8th at 10 AM ET / 7 AM PT.

The following tracks are on repeat in the Shred-a-Thon playlist:

Dragonforce – Through the Fire and Flames
Alter Bridge – Cry of Achilles
Megadeth – Hangar 18
Lamb of God – Ghost Walking
Trivium – Strife

After the marathon ends, Through the Fire and Flames will be added to the game’s regular song catalogue.

It’s also worth noting that each song included in Shred-a-Thon is Rival Challenge-enabled, This gives players the option of competing against matchmade players in a head-to-head battle during each song.

This information comes from Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima…

Next, I would like to talk about the status of download sales.

This graph shows download sales from the latest three fiscal years through the third quarter of this fiscal year.

Total download sales from the first quarter to the third quarter totaled 30.5 billion yen. This increase is mainly due to add-on content inside games.

Without including the upcoming fourth quarter results, we are already close to achieving sales of the previous fiscal year total.

32l

This is the breakdown of download sales by region through the third quarter of the previous fiscal year and this fiscal year. You can see that the sales figures for each region exceeded those of the previous fiscal year. Especially significant is the growth rate of The Americas ? the yellow part of the graph.

The Americas accounts for around half, followed by Japan and Europe.

33l

This slide shows top selling download titles excluding download versions of packaged software.
In particular, add-on content for Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart 8 made large contributions.
We will continue to release attractive add-on content maximizing features of each software title since they help maintain software usage rate and keep the title at the center of conversation.

Update: Side-note about the five volumes of complete version manga previously announced. It will begin with the Complete Version of Ocarina of Time, out on March 10.

We knew that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess would be receiving its own manga thanks to an announcement made earlier this week. An official press release has now been sent out, confirming that it will begin on February 8. New content will be issued bi-weekly.

The series will be published at Shogakukan’s manga app Manga One. If we hear anything about an official translation, we’ll be sure to let you know.

“Malo” is touching upon another aspect of Twilight Princess HD with today’s new tweet on the series’ Japanese Twitter page. Today’s message focuses on the Ooccoos.

Here’s the translated tweet:

“…It’s Malo. This is the ‘Auntie’ who would teleport you instantly in and out of dungeons… I can’t unsee her as an alien… Originally she should’ve looked a bit more like human… but what happened here…”
