Wii U

A few days ago, Nintendo shared a few tidbits about its sales performance in the U.S. last month. But the company didn’t have much to say regarding Wii U hardware sales. While Nintendo is remaining quiet on that front, we now have a sales figure for the console thanks to creamsugar, who often leaks NPD data.

Wii U managed to sell roughly 46,000 units in the U.S. during the month of July. That would be a slight decline compared to May’s estimate of 70,000 units.

According to Nintendo, Wii U software sales increased by 10 percent through the first seven months of the year compared to the same period in 2014 in large part due to the success of Splatoon. The Big N also said that 3DS hardware sales are up by close to 35 percent.

Several announcements about Disney Infinity 3.0 were made during the D23 Expo earlier today.

A new Play Set is on the way known as “Marvel Battlegrounds”. This features new story-based levels, and it will be the first play set with 4-player cooperative multiplayer. Marvel Battlegrounds launches in spring 2016.

Disney Interactive has many new figures on the way. Hulkbuster and Ultron are coming in November, followed by Spot from Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur and Judy and Nick from Disney’s Zootopia. Peter Pan will also be getting a figure sometime in 2016.

Last but not least, a new set of limited edition Light FX Star Wars character figures were unveiled. Consumers will be able to pick up figures based on Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Kanan Jarrus this holiday. Each one features Lightsabers that light up when placed on the Disney Infinity base.

Each one of the Disney Infinity games have featured something known as the “ultimate unlock”. These are special rewards available to those who collect all of the related figures.

At the D23 Expo, it was revealed that Disney Infinity 3.0’s ultimate unlock is none other than the Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts. There are also 5,000 Kingdom Hearts costume change power discs being distributed to attendees, which will never be sold in stores.

We have another quick look at the Super Mario Maker idea booklet included with the game. See it in the video below.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Off-screen footage is available showing the Scooby Doo level in LEGO Dimensions. Check it out in the video below.

We have an image of another amiibo costume included in Super Mario Maker. Above, you can get a first look at the silver Mario outfit (which may also feature the Super Mario 64 finishing jingle if a Miiverse post is to be believed). The gold Mario figure works as well, but we don’t have any screenshots of it just yet.

Thanks to Anthony for the tip.

Ubisoft launched Just Dance: Disney Party back in 2012. Based on information coming from a retailer, it’s now looking like the game will be receiving a sequel.

Amazon Spain is listing Just Dance: Disney Party 2 for a few different platforms, including Wii U and Wii. There’s a tentative October 22 release date on the product page as well.

Ubisoft has yet to announce Just Dance: Disney Party 2, but an announcement could be made in the near future.

UK retailer GAME has a pre-order bonus available for Super Mario Maker. If you reserve the title, you’ll be given the pin badge set pictured above.

You can pre-order Super Mario Maker on GAME here. The offer is valid in-store as well.

Super Mario Maker’s pre-load went live on the North American Wii U eShop a few days ago. Even if you decide the purchase the game digitally, you’re still entitled to a physical copy of the idea booklet. And claiming your copy is actually very simple.

After buying Super Mario Maker on the eShop, you’ll find a toll-free number to call on your receipt. Hit up that number and explain why you’re calling. After you give Nintendo your Wii U serial number (which is also on the receipt), email, name, and address, an order will be created and the booklet will be sent out when they become available.

Note that this offer is only valid in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
