How to transfer Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus data to Wii Fit U
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii, Wii U | 4 Comments
If you’ve already used Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus, you’ll be able to bring data from either game over to Wii Fit U. Now, how do you go about that? An update to Wii Fit U’s official Japanese website recently shared a summary of steps, which we’ve translated below:
- Copy the save data from the Wii Data Management section onto an SD card (card must have at least 512MB of space)
- Move the SD card to the Wii U
- Put the Wii Fit/Wii Fit Plus disc into the Wii U
- Go into Wii mode on Wii U
- Copy the save data to Wii U within Wii mode
- Data can then be extracted from the Wii once you get Wii Fit U
Should be easy enough!

– Nintendo took up all five top slots for software sales since 2001
– Pokemon Diamond/Pearl is number two, followed by Black/White, Ruby/Sapphire, Animal Crossing: New Leaf
– All of these games sold at least 5 million copies
– Brain Age, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Dragon Quest IX and Mario Kart DS round out the top 10
– 8 Nintendo-published titles overall
– Nintendo has sold 99.8 million pieces of retail software in Japan since 2001
– Combined with the 33 million or so Pokemon games sold, that’s nearly 133 million Nintendo-produced game cards and discs floating around Japan
– That’s enough to give every Japanese citizen one game and still have about seven million left over
– Runner-up in software sales: Square Enix
– Square Enix has sold just over 30 million retail copies
– Only 11 publishers produced all of the games that made the top 100 sales ranking
Famitsu concluded with the following:
“More users are downloading their software purchases, and the flow toward free-to-play can’t be ignored. Games are being played in an expanding number of ways, and there’s been a massive rise in the number of users who play games on their smartphones. We’re approaching an era where software sales aren’t necessarily a direct reflection of what gamers like.”
Wii/Wii U sales account for 1.3% of EA’s sales this past quarter
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, DS, News, Wii, Wii U | 7 Comments
EA earned $695 in revenue across console, mobile, and PC software sales during the latest financial quarter. Unsurprisingly, just $9 million of the total came from Wii U and Wii U titles, or 1.3 percent.
If you were to disregard handheld and PC sales, Wii and Wii U’s total increases to 3 percent. Still, that’s nothing compared to the Xbox 360 (54 percent) and PlayStation 3 (42 percent).
Also worth mentioning, handheld sales encompass 14 percent of all EA mobile sales. Sony handhelds take up 8 percent while Nintendo portables account for 6 percent.

Activision intends to sell a lot of Skylanders products on Nintendo platforms
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii, Wii U | 0 comments
The Wii is on its way out, and the Wii U hasn’t performed up to Nintendo’s expectations. Given these two factors, MCV decided to ask Activision’s UK MD, Roy Stackhouse, about whether the publisher’s expectations for the game have been negatively impacted.
Not at all, Stackhouse said. In fact, he along with Activision as a whole “expect to sell a lot of Skylanders on the Nintendo platforms.” Stackhouse also said the company still considers Nintendo to be “a very integral part of our sales mix going forward.”
Stackhouse’s comments in full:
“Not at all. We still expect to sell a lot of Skylanders on the Nintendo platforms. Just because the sales may have softened doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of consoles out there that children are still playing on. We still see Nintendo as a very integral part of our sales mix going forward.”
