Wii U eShop

World to the West, the next game from Teslagrad developer Rain Games, is coming to Wii U soon and potentially Switch in the future. A video with another 18 minutes of footage can be found below.

The Girl and the Robot, first announced for Wii U in 2013, is finally landing on the eShop next week. Nintendo’s website lists it for May 25 in North America. The game will set you back $9.99.

Here’s an overview of The Girl and the Robot:

“The Girl and the Robot is a unique third person action/adventure game set in a fairy tale world. You take on the role of a young girl trying to escape from a castle ruled by an evil queen. On her way, she meets a mysterious robot that can be controlled remotely and together they encounter many challenges that test the strength of their new found friendship. This game is the first act of the fairy tale.”

And some Wii U screenshots:

Flying Carpets Games said in March that the team was “exploring” a Switch version of The Girl and the Robot. Nothing is set in stone just yet, however.

If you thought Konami would be slowing down on its TurboGrafx-16 games for the Wii U Virtual Console, think again. We do know that Blazing Stars is scheduled for tomorrow in North America. Six games have now been rated by the ESRB as well.

Neutopia II, Bonk III, Air Zonk, Alien Crush, Devil’s Crush, and Soldier Blade have classifications. It’s unclear when they were added to the ESRB site, but it seems to have taken place recently. We should be seeing these games on the Wii U eShop in the months ahead.

Konami intends to put out another game on the North American Wii U Virtual Console this week. Tomorrow, Blazing Lazers will be available.

Here’s a brief overview:

“Players control the extraordinary firepower of their Gunhed Star Fighter to take on the Dark Squadron that has begun its invasion of Earth. Collect power-ups to increase your ship’s battle strength so it can cut through enemies and defeat the bosses in all 9 areas. Of course, as part of the ‘Soldier’ series, the game contains a good combination of fast-paced speed with catchy, drum-propelled background music, coupled with the Field Thunder that can be used to destroy enemies in one fell swoop for the ultimate sense of satisfaction!”

Blazing Lazers will be priced at $5.99.

And an overview:

NORMAL GAME is made up of eight different stages, and in each stage (except Stage 7) a boss awaits you at the end.

The special attack squad, led by the Mother Brain, has launched an all-out invasion on Earth. Take your small-scale fighter, the Neo Caesar, with its arsenal of four regular weapons and two special weapons, and send them back where they belong!”
