Treyarch has prepared a new title update for Call of Duty: Ghosts – it’s out now on Wii U.

The patch adds a GamePad Scoreboard panel and allows individual players to be muted by tapping the speaker icon next to their name on the GamePad Scoreboard. Several fixes have been implemented as well.

For the full patch notes, head past the break.

Ubisoft’s holiday lineup was dealt a huge blow after the publisher announced a delay for Watch_Dogs. Originally slated for November, the title was pushed to Q2 2014.

As is always the case when a game is moved back, fans were disappointed with the news. Ubisoft North America president Laurent Detoc mentioned to Examiner, however, that having the extra time for development “will ensure we launch a better game.”

He said:

“There are definitely times when we have to make tough decisions, such as moving a launch date, as it initially upsets some in our community but ultimately will ensure we launch a better game.

“A great game, such as Far Cry 3 last year or Rayman Legends this year, has to have the time and resources to make sure it’s done right. We’re proud of how far we’ve come and see this next-generation transition as another opportunity to grow, gain market share and create amazing experiences for our fans.

“We believe that ultimately, it’s our fans that help influence our franchises, our business and our success. If we create compelling experiences, listen to our fans and make smart business decisions with them in mind, we will win the race.”

Puyo Puyo Tetris includes a neat little Versus mode. The rules are quite simple: one player takes on a game of Tetris while the other is put in charge of Puyo Puyo. When playing Puyo Puyo, traditional Puyo Puyo Tsu are used, so erasing puyos drops nuisance puyos on the other player’s board. Tetris, on the other hand, makes use of classic Tetris rules.

There’s another mode in Puyo Puyo Tetris, too. Swap mode features a game board for Tetris and another for Puyo Puyo. Players switch off on the games when the time runs out.

A few months ago, there were reports that Renesas Electronics would be shutting down its plants, including one that handles Wii U’s embedded DRAM. However, a few Japanese sources such as Nihon Keizai Shimbu, Toyo Keizai, Nikkei, Reuters, Sankei Digital, Mainichi and Asahi Digital say Sony could end up acquiring the Tsuruoka plant. Indeed: that’s where Wii U’s eDRAM is produced.

Japanese outlets claim that the acquisition could begin as early as next week. Sony appears to be interested in Renesas Electronics so that it can enhance production of its CMOS sensors for smartphones.

When news first emerged of Renesas’ potential closure, Nintendo said at the time that Wii U production would not be affected.
