It was surprising to see that Activision didn’t announce any titles for Wii U at E3 2012. The only game confirmed for the console, Skylanders Giants, was mentioned casually in an interview following Nintendo’s press conference.

Even with the lack of reveals, fans can be rest assured that Activision is planning support for the console.

Activision Publishing boss Eric Hirshberg has said that they “take out time to get our ducks in a row before pulling any trigger.”

“We take out time to get our ducks in a row before pulling any trigger. We don’t have announcements today but we will be supporting Wii U.”

…we were there with second screen enhancements with Call of Duty Elite last year and one of the primary uses we’re finding comes through the tablet and through the smartphone.”

“People are using it as that sidecar as they’re playing… People are using it in that between games way that I think now you’re seeing that kind of rhetoric with the controller from Nintendo as well as the SmartGlass presentation from Microsoft. So it’s great that others are jumping on board and enhancing that idea but it’s something we were doing last year with Elite.”

Square Enix will offer new Theatrhythm Final Fantasy songs through DLC within the next few days.

As usual, four songs will be available. Final Fantasy V’s Battle (battle music), Final Fantasy VIII’s Force Your Way (battle music), Final Fantasy IX’s The City That Never Sleeps (field music), and Final Fantasy X’s Summoned Beast Battle (battle music) are the new selections.

Each piece of music launches on June 13 for 150 yen each. You can find samples for all of the songs above.

Nintendo Gamer has reason to believe that Call of Duty: Black Ops II is coming to Wii U. Otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense for the magazine to publish a preview of the game in its latest issue.

Keep in mind that this doesn’t mean that Black Ops II is confirmed for the console – even though it’s very likely. Nintendo Gamer has a history of being very speculative and the fact that its article is essentially a round-up of already-known information without Wii U-specific details is curious.

The situation surrounding Wii U Friend Codes becomes more confusing by the day. Based on new comments from Reggie Fils-Aime, the setup is returning for the console, but it’ll be extremely different this time around. Reggie told Kotaku that “The method by which you identify someone as a friend is a lot simpler than what’s happening today with Friend Codes.”

For more details on Friend Codes,  the GamePad’s battery life, Off-TV Play, achievements for the Wii U, Miiverse moderation, and more, head past the break.

Rising Star Games has confirmed that Project Happiness will be released on the 3DS. Previously, the title had only been announced for handheld platforms.

Project Happiness is a new game from Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada. It’s being made by Wada’s new studio, Toybox.

The gameplay features shop-building functionality. Players make their store bigger and better by adding in new products and gaining customers. More details can be found here.

Project Happiness will be available next year. It’ll be published by Natsume in North America and Rising Star Games in Europe.

The Heroes of Ruin demo is only available in Europe at the moment, but the download will be coming to North America soon. Other upcoming demos include Kingdom Hearts 3D, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Rhythm Thief & The Emperor’s Treasure.
