A new wave of Nintendo maintenance is set to take place over the next couple of weeks. Switch will be impacted over a couple of different sessions – using a credit card on the eShop and parent / guardian confirmation.

The full maintenance schedule as things stand now is as follows:

It seems with every passing year we get more and more creative minds in the indie space expanding certain genres and what it means to perceive gameplay within them. One of the more popular areas of growth and reach we’ve seen in recent memory is through the guise of simulators – whether they may be farming sims, life sims, etc. – and how their flexibility can create such a creative playground for forward-thinking ideas that make for cathartic, memorable, and almost addictive experiences. Time on Frog Island, formerly known as Trading Time: A Croak Tale, is next up in a slew of releases in an ever-growing genre that seems to push ideas and the concept of sims forward with each new title – however inspired they may be by the giants of the genre – and it’s a pleasure to have had an early look at the game on Switch to see just where the minds at Half Past Yellow lie and how they’re making their version of what it means to be stranded on an island and having to start from scratch.

Best Month Ever! has received a new launch trailer. This week, Klabater and Warsaw Film School put the narrative-driven visual adventure title on Switch.

Additional information about the game can be found in the following overview:

Two more Switch titles are getting the physical treatment, as Astro Aqua Kitty Pawsome Collection and Catlateral Damage: Remeowstered are confirmed to be getting boxed versions.

Both titles are being offered through Limited Run Games’ “distribution line”. That means there aren’t any special editions planned, though Astro Aqua Kitty Pawsome Collection will have a soundtrack bundle.

This week’s Switch eShop charts are as follows:

More:

Nearly fifty titles from NIS America have been discounted on the Switch eShop as part of the company’s 2022 Golden Week Sale. Fans can save up to 87 percent on a variety of titles.

The full lineup of included games is as follows:

What’s the “best worst game” former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has played? That honor goes to the rhythm title Donkey Konga.

Reggie spoke about his disdain for Donkey Konga during an interview with G4TV this week. As it turns out, he had the belief that this particular game “was going to hurt the Donkey Kong brand.”

Mario Strikers: Battle League heads to Switch this month, and we have even more on the game now. Nintendo opened the official Japanese website and it provides some goodies. Along with some new gameplay, we also have a bunch of character art for the various roster participants.

As for the game itself, here’s everything you need to know:

Former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has once again chimed in on Mother 3, including how the game has never been localized.

Reggie already said this week that there were “many conversations” about the title and a possible western launch. However, nothing ever materialized. Reggie suggested that an overseas release simply never made sense from a business perspective, but now we have further clarification.
