Japan: Best-selling Nintendo Switch eShop games for March 2025 – Xenoblade Chronicles X debuts at #1
Nintendo shared new data this week revealing the top 20 best-selling games on the Japanese Switch eShop for March 2025.
A few new games appear for the first time, including Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition – which does land at #1. There’s also Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster at #11, SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered at #14, and Atelier Yumia at #20.
The full lineup of Japan’s best-selling games on the Switch eShop for March 2025 is as follows:
System: Switch
Release date: April 2, 2025
Developer: Argonaut Games
Publisher: Argonaut Games
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos first emerged in 1997 as a 3D platformer developed by Argonaut Software and published by Fox Interactive on the original PlayStation. Originally conceptualized as a Yoshi-centric racing game for Nintendo, it took on a life of its own when that collaboration fell through, leaving us with our adorable and plucky green crocodile set out on an adventure to free the charming little creatures that rescued and reared him. Brown, fuzzy, and cute to boot, the Gobbos are scattered all around the islands and apparently only Croc was spared – leaving him in the best position to start on those rescue efforts.
A neat little Nintendo development tidbit was tucked away inside the company’s Switch 2 interview published this week, which concerns controllers.
Technical director Tetsuya Sasaki was speaking about the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller and how it was designed from scratch. The team put in a lot of work to make sure that “the left and right control sticks are quieter and don’t make noise, even when they’re moved quickly to the edge.” Also mentioned that given how smooth they glide, Nintendo calls them “smooth-gliding sticks.”
