Nintendo announced today that the Switch Online service will finally be updated next week with new games. As we’ve sometimes seen before, there are different plans for the west and Japan.

North America (and presumably Europe) is getting Star Fox 2, Kirby Super Star, Super Punch-Out!!, and Breath of Fire II. In Japan though, the latter two games won’t be offered. Also, overseas Switch owners will be receiving Crystalis and Journey to Silius, but Japan swaps those out for Famicom Wars and Route-16.

The nice thing about Nintendo Switch Online is that the service is region-free. Both the SNES and NES apps can be downloaded and played in different regions. This technically allows for all of the games mentioned above to be played regardless of region.

Nintendo has announced a new batch of games for the Switch Online service. On December 12, four SNES games and two NES titles will be joining the lineup.

The latest firmware update for Switch has just gone live. System users can now access version 9.1.0. Previously, Nintendo put out version 9.0.1 at the end of September.

As part of today’s update, Nintendo says it has improved general stability. It has also addressed an issue in which the color animation was not displaying correctly when attaching a Joy-Con controller to the console.

Carlsen Games has announced that two games are launching for Switch on January 9. Along with the rhythm-based platformer 140, we’ll also be getting the twin-stick shooter/puzzler.

In a recent news post sent out to Switch owners, Nintendo provided a listing of the top 15 European eShop downloads for November 2019.

This month, Pokemon Sword/Shield tops the charts. Other newcomers include Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Combined sales of the original Switch and Switch Lite were at over 830,000 units during Thanksgiving week, Nintendo has announced. The company’s internal data accounts for the period between November 24 and November 30. Thanks to those huge sales, Switch experienced its single best week of U.S. sales in Switch history.

Nintendo says that Switch sales in the Americas have reached 17.5 million units in total. On top of that, Cyber Monday broke records as well, becoming the best one yet for the console.
