Indie developer Yeti Boom is working on “ManderZ Quest” for the Wii U eShop. The title as well as the game itself are both a work in progress.
Below is an official overview of ManderZ Quest:
Due to a glitch in a game’s code, ManderZ and her friends have found themselves trapped inside a “GamerGirl Color” handheld gaming console. It’s up to you to save them!
Playing as ManderZ, you’ll work your way through 8 crazy, classic-style levels, defeating enemies, bosses, and ultimately fixing the glitch that sent them to this strange game world.
As a tribute to the Game Boy Color, ManderZ Quest features 8-bit graphics and music. The developer is making use of the same 4-color limitations, and is using the original 160×144 screen resolution as a base. Additionally, music is being composed on and recorded from an original Game Boy DMG-01.
ManderZ Quest is early on in development, so a release date won’t be coming any time soon. However, Yeti Boom has promised that the game will be a Wii U exclusive.

Vblank Entertainment seems to be pleased with Retro City Rampage’s performance on 3DS. Creator Brian Provinciano tweeted today that the game has “done incredibly well” on Nintendo’s portable.
@JonGryphon 3DS version's done incredibly well.
— Brian Provinciano (@BriProv) July 2, 2014
The comment above originated from a larger discussion about reviews:
Big reviews *DO* influence future reviews and public perception. The perception tints the glasses everyone else enters the game with.
— Brian Provinciano (@BriProv) July 2, 2014
If a game has a positive perception, new players continue to give it the benefit of the doubt if certain aspects don't grip them initially.
— Brian Provinciano (@BriProv) July 2, 2014
If a game has a negative perception, if new players do try it, they'll be quick to write it off.
— Brian Provinciano (@BriProv) July 2, 2014
Retro City Rampage made almost all of its revenue the second year. I do feel strongly that IGN's review significantly damaged the launch.
— Brian Provinciano (@BriProv) July 2, 2014
Word of mouth, and a hundred thousand players playing it on PS+ probably helped public perception overshadow IGN's influence a lot.
— Brian Provinciano (@BriProv) July 2, 2014
RCR:DX later launched to almost unanimous 9/10s. IGN never reviewed it, & in their RCR:DX coverage linked to their 5.3/10 orig RCR review.
