This week’s issue of Famitsu has a new interview about Pokken Tournament with Pokemon Company CEO and president Tsunekazu Ishihara, Tekken series chief producer Katsuhiro Harada, and Soulcalibur producer Masaaki Hoshino. You can find some excerpts after the break (courtesy of Siliconera).

A big announcement from Capcom is being teased for the next issue of Famitsu. The magazine will have a 32-page special preview, which will include the reveal of Capcom’s project.

We could hear about the new game as early as Tuesday. Famitsu may share the news on its website ahead of the magazine’s release in a brief post, though leaks will definitely occur with more information during the day as well.

Separately from the Capcom news, we’re hearing that a 100-page Smash Bros. 3DS supplement feature and a Bandai Namco TGS feature will be in next week’s Famitsu.

In an article in this week’s Famitsu, a new partnership between PoPoLoCrois and Harvest Moon was announced.

PoPoLoCrois was a very popular manga series in Japan, and with this new partnership we will see a combination of two worlds which will be titled PoPoLoCrois Farm Story. The game will include many characters from the PoPoLoCrois series, and will see the return of protagonist Prince Pietro.

More information should be leaking out over the next few days.

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart! Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Persona 5, Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, Final Fantasy XV, and Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire are all in the top five.

Head past the break for the full chart. All votes were cast between August 7 and August 20.

In last week’s issue of Famitsu, Masahiro Sakurai wrote a new column that goes into detail about the debugging process with games. Although nothing earth-shattering was revealed about the new Smash Bros., it’s quite an interesting read (though there is some Smash talk).

We’ve finally managed to put up a translation of Sakurai’s column. Head past the break to read it in full.

This week’s Famitsu has another update on Final Fantasy Explorers. There’s one game element in particular worth bringing to your attention.

According to the magazine, Final Fantasy Explorers allows “legendary characters” (main characters from the series among others) to join the fight. This is possible with the transformation ability which allows players to change their form for a limited time.

Final Fantasy VII’s Cloud Strife is the first classic character reveal, and Famitsu shows a couple of screenshots. We should be hearing about more legendary characters in the coming weeks and months.
