Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition will feature 13 newly-added post-game dungeons, Square Enix has announced.

These extra areas, which are more difficult than normal, offer new equipment item recipes that were not included in the original game. Players will be able to obtain new accessories, weapons, and armor. Also new is the ability to use “Crystal Memories” in these dungeons, which allow players to use moves previously unique to bosses.

Here’s a look at the new dungeons:

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is introducing a “Mimic” feature. With it, your character can take on the form of different people you meet on your journey. Square Enix has now introduced DLC that will involve characters from previous entries in the series.

This week on Nintendo Everything Podcast, it’s a celebration of China with Pokemon Unite and Min Min in Smash. It’s a news-focused episode with game announcements, debuts, updates, and a controversy. Suda51’s pixelated face mimics Andross in the No More Heroes 3 gameplay teaser, but we’re not deterred. We’re also just as unsure as Suda if it’ll release this year. We also celebrate the consumer-positive Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered’s lite version. Have any other games done something this generous before?

Last night, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is launching in Japan on August 27. Just as expected, fans in the west will be getting it around the same time – actually, on the same day. Square Enix has confirmed that we’ll be seeing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition in North America and Europe on August 27.

It currently appears that the game will have a digital-only release overseas. However, Japan will be receiving a physical version. Collectors can import a copy from Play-Asia here.

Here’s a rundown of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition from Square Enix:

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition was announced back in September 2018, but the game still has yet to release. Most recently, Square Enix announced a delay last December, pushing the title to this summer. We now have a new release date.

In Japan, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition is slated for August 27. That should translate to August 25 or August 28 in the west.

Square Enix has delayed Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition for a second time. The GameCube re-release for Switch will now launch in Summer 2020.

Originally, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition was on track for this year. Square Enix then ended up announcing a new release date of January 23, 2020.

Regarding the latest delay, Square Enix said:

At Tokyo Game Show 2019, Square Enix kindly set us up with a special demo session of the upcoming Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition for Switch. Sifting through the miasma, I sat down with three others to crawl through the dungeon-like environments and bring back some Myrrh (AKA impressions) for our readers. Though I’m not so sure the town will be very festive upon my return from this excursion…
