Indie World

Just like in 2019, Nintendo decided to close out 2020 with an Indie World Showcase. Nearly twenty games were shown, and a few were announced and released on the same day. Among Us, Grindstone, When the Past Was Around, and Calico all dropped on the eShop. We also heard about titles like Spelunky 1 and 2, Gnosia, and Alba: A Wildlife Adventure. Nintendo has put out a lengthy announcement recapping all of today’s news from the Indie World Showcase. It goes over every announcement as well as updates on other titles.

Indie World Showcase

Today’s Indie World Showcase will be starting not too long from now. The presentation kicks off at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM in the UK / 6 PM in Europe.

As a reminder, today’s presentation will cover upcoming indie games for Switch. It should last about 15 minutes.

You can watch the Indie World Showcase as it happens below. We’ll report on all of the news during and after the broadcast.

It might have been a bit easy to lose in all of the excitement of The Game Awards, but Nintendo released a minute long video looking over different indie games on the Switch. It included a couple of games that were up for awards (Hades and Ori and the Will of the Wisps) as well as past winners such as Untitled Goose Game.

Nintendo hosted one of its Indie World Showcase presentations this week. As is normally the case, we were able to check out a whole bunch of upcoming indie games for Switch. And while we usually get a few shadowdrops during these broadcasts, there were quite a few this time around – probably the most we’ve ever had.
