This week on Nintendo Everything Podcast, we’re joined by special guests Daim Dziauddin and Wan ‘Haz’ Hazmer, directors of No Straight Roads for Nintendo Switch. They share their experiences of working in the Japanese game industry at Capcom and Square Enix, leading them to found their own business back in their home of Malaysia. We’re very excited to highlight the important work they’re doing for the Malaysian games industry—both of them have a lot of passion and excitement for games, and it shows! Nintendo hosted one of its Indie World Showcase presentations this week. As is normally the case, we were able to check out a whole bunch of upcoming indie games for Switch. And while we usually get a few shadowdrops during these broadcasts, there were quite a few this time around – probably the most we’ve ever had. Those that missed the event can catch up on the big news in the announcement recap here.

Nintendo has shared a lengthy announcement recapping all of the news from today’s Indie World Showcase. Aside from featured titles, it also goes over some of the games shown at the sizzle reel from the end of the broadcast.

Following yesterday’s announcement, the latest Indie World Showcase will be kicking off soon. The broadcast begins at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM in the UK / 6 PM in Europe, and should last about 20 minutes.

Our video series returns with a look at the rumored The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword port for Switch. We delve into the details, give our thoughts, and also briefly discuss the upcoming Indie World Showcase.

Nintendo will host a new Indie World Showcase on August 18, the company just announced. Switch owners can expect a 20-minute presentation regarding indie games coming to Switch.

The broadcast will go live at the following times:

First impressions on New Horizon, followed by demo talk on Trials of Mana and how Square Enix is remaking two great JRPGs very, very differently. Then we celebrate Nindies in the Indie World Presentation, and close out the show by discussing if there’s any good LGBTQ+ representation in video games. Spoiler alert: there’s very little of it.
