Yo-kai Watch Busters’ new Moon Rabbit Team update is live in Japan. As such, Level-5 is celebrating with a new trailer. You can view it below.

Details about Yo-kai Watch Busters’ update are located here.

During last month’s Nintendo Direct, a short promo aired for Yo-kai Watch involving Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime and Bill Trinen. The third part of that has now been made available. Give it a look below.

Less than two weeks before the debut of Yo-kai Watch: Enma Daioh to Itsutsu no Monogatari da Nyan! TV announcer Sayaka Suguru announced that a third film is on the way for Winter 2016. The announcement was made during a special event for the second film and unfortunately did not include any details about the movie.

Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino is aware that making Yo-kai Watch a success in the west will be challenging. In an interview with Technobubble, he said:

“We’re working in a market packed with both Pokémon and all kinds of other attractive content, so for a new entry like ours, it was going to be challenging no matter what.”

One reason behind the tough localization process is due to the “yokai” term being inherently Japanese. In other territories, there isn’t a quick and direct equivalent.

As Hino said:

“To Japanese people, yokai aren’t monsters precisely — they’re a more special kind of thing. In the past, we used the term to refer to the personified souls of people, animals, or things that made contact with and grew attached to people.”

Level-5 has just announced that their popular RPG series, Yokai Watch, has surpassed 10 million units sold worldwide.

The number includes all Yokai Watch related titles, including Busters, Yo-Kai Watch 1 and 2 in Japan as well as the original’s release in the west. This is a huge milestone for the Japanese hit, and we hope to see more success from it in the future.

In Japan, expect to see the Yo-Kai Watch edition of Just Dance releasing on December 5th which comes with a whopping ten songs, with its second animated movie coming out on December 19th, followed by the third installment in the main series coming to 3DS in summer of 2016.

Back in April, Level-5 revealed a new cross-media project known as “The Snack World”. Along with games, there are also plans to create a full CG TV anime, manga in CoroCoro, Takara Tomy toy line, and nationwide movie release.

Level-5 has now announced that The Snack World anime will debut alongside the theatrical release of Yo-Kai Watch the Movie 2: King Enma and the 5 Stories, Nyan! in Japan. This will be taking place on December 19.

Here’s an overview of the story:

In “a certain era” on “a certain continent,” something trivial is happening…The construction of “Large-Scale Leisure Facilities” have demanded the eviction of villages. And when these demands are denied, the village and its residents are destroyed. The main character, a boy named Chup, once lived in “small happiness,” but lost it all. But he gets over his sadness and embarks on a journey of revenge… But he’s madly in love with the king’s daughter, Princess Melora. So in order to fulfill her selfish wishes, he gathers his friends to tackle the impossible.

Level-5 is keeping the Yo-kai Watch promotional train going with four more videos for its games. Below you’ll find commercials for Yo-kai Watch Dance: Just Dance Special Version as well as Yo-kai Watch Busters.

The only Yo-kai Watch title we’ve seen from Level-5 on a Nintendo console is the upcoming Yo-kai Watch Dance: Just Dance Special Version. But could the studio expand its efforts to bring a proper title to Wii U, or even NX? Company CEO Akihiro Hino is certainly open to the possibility.

Hino said he “would definitely want to proactively consider it,” if Level-5 has a title that would make sense as a Wii U game. Taking things further, Hino expressed interest in potentially making games for NX if it can “bring Level-5 games to as many kids as possible.” Speaking broadly about Level-5, he added that if the company finds this to be the case, “it wouldn’t be impossible” to see its games on the system.

Hino also addressed Pokemon again, which has seen some comparisons to Level-5’s Yo-kai Watch series. He believes the two can coexist peacefully. Hino mentioned: “If kids are willing to buy both of them, I couldn’t be happier.”
