Earlier today, Nintendo dated Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition for May 29. We also found out about the Definitive Works Set, which features a 250-page artbook full of beautiful landscapes, imposing monsters and more.
Meanwhile in Europe, the Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Collector’s Set has been announced. It comes with the same art book, but also a steelbook, poster, and vinyl featuring the Monado printed on the sleeve.
We imagine that many of you will be more interested in the European special edition, and thankfully importing is an option since Switch is region-free. We’ll keep you updated on pre-orders going forward.

Today, Nintendo added in a listing for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition on the European (and Australian) Switch eShop. Perhaps we’ll hear more about it soon.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition was announced during the last general Nintendo Direct in September 2019. Nintendo hasn’t shared any new information about the remake since then.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition was rated in South Korea last month, hinting that a release may not be too far away.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has been rated in South Korea

Today, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has received an age rating in South Korea. This usually means that the game is in a mostly complete state and as such, its release date isn’t too far away. The last time we heard anything about the game was when it was announced back in September of last year; the game’s official release date is still a rather vague “2020”. Hopefully we’ll hear some news soon.
Baten Kaitos director reflects on Japanese commercial and Nintendo’s enthusiasm for the game

Monolith Soft is most commonly tied to the Xenoblade franchise these days, but the developer has worked on a number of other titles in the past. One such IP was Baten Kaitos, a GameCube-exclusive that originally released in Japan at the end of 2003 and a year later in the west.
Not too long ago, director Yasuyuki Honne reflected on the game, and more specifically, one of the game’s Japanese advert. Honne said Nintendo “was extremely happy that we were making a GameCube exclusive RPG for them, and without even knowing what the game was about, they made a teaser commercial”.
