A few days ago, Media Create reported impressive sales for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire as the two games debuted in Japan. We now have some extra details about their performance.

The launch of Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire led to strong Japanese sales overall, which came in at 1,854,058 units. Thanks to the new Pokemon games, total Japanese software sales had their second best-selling week of 2014 – only behind Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate’s launch week of 1,854,220 units.

Breaking things down a bit more, Alpha Sapphire sold 714,000 copies and Omega Ruby sold 614,000 copies during their first week of availability. The grand total comes in at 1,509,000 copies when counting the Double Pack.

Here’s how Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire compare to X/Y and HeartGold/SoulSilver:

Wii U was a popular item on eBay during Black Friday, according to the New York Times. The site reports that Nintendo’s console “sold out 4,000 units in less than 17 minutes, with customers snapping up four of the devices per second.”

How were Wii U sales as a whole on Black Friday? That’s unclear at this point. Hopefully we’ll receive some data from Nintendo within the next few days!

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire have sold 1.535 million copies in Japan, according to a report from Famitsu. That’s an impressive stat based on just three days of sales – November 21 to November 23.

Note that sales of the Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire Double Pack are included in Famitsu’s number. Download sales, however, are not.

Famitsu also reports that 3DS sales came in at 83,129 units last week, up from 51,390 units the previous week.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, which launched in North America last Friday, has already sold 490,000 units between physical and digital sales, Nintendo has announced. That number accounts for sales between November 21 and November 23.

Thanks to the success of Super Smash Bros., it’s now the fastest-selling Wii U game ever in the U.S. Mario Kart 8 previously held this record.

Nintendo has also confirmed that more than 14 million Super Smash Bros. games have been sold in the U.S. alone.

Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, said of today’s news:

“The Nintendo holiday is off to a great start, but there’s a lot of work left to do and a few more surprises in store for our fans. With great deals coming on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and great content like Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker launching next week, Nintendo will offer shoppers the best combination of fun and value this holiday season.”
