Monster Hunter 4 ships over 4 million copies in Japan

Monster Hunter 4 just keeps on trucking. Capcom announced yet another milestone for the game today, as shipments have surpassed four million copies. That figure includes sales of the downloadable version through download cards and the eShop.

Updated Wii U and 3DS sales figures in France

Nintendo of France deputy general manager Philippe Lavoué shared updated Wii U and 3DS sales figures for the country while speaking with JDLi.
According to Lavoué, Wii U’s life-to-date hardware sales stand at 175,000 in France as of the middle of November.
As for 3DS, the system’s life-to-date sales come in at 2,150,000 units. The 2DS accounts for 30 percent of the 3DS’ total sales. 3DS possesses a market share of 50 percent of all systems at the moment.
It’s also worth mentioning that 3DS software sales rose from 850,000 to 1,700,000 year-over-year during the same timeframe.
Additionally, Pokemon X and Pokemon Y collectively sold 220,000 copies in its first three weeks of availability.

UK: PS4 and Xbox One surpass Wii U’s life-to-date sales

Wii U’s life-to-date sales in the UK stand at about 150,000 units, Eurogamer reports. How does that stack up to the other new consoles?
During the PlayStation 4’s launch weekend, the console sold 250,000 units. Eurogamer also writes that the Xbox One has moved 170,000 in total thus far.
Chart-Track isn’t officially sharing any numbers, but has confirmed that the PS4 and Xbox One have already surpassed Wii U’s lifetime sales.

Black Friday 2013: InfoScout data ranks console sales, top-selling games

Data collected by shopping market research firm InfoScout indicates that the Xbox One was the most popular gaming console during Black Friday 2013, thanks to a 31 percent market share. Xbox 360 followed with a 30 percent share. The PlayStation 4 and PS3 were next with 15 percent each. Nintendo closed things out with a 6 percent share for Wii U and 1 percent share for Wii.
InfoScout also reveals the top-selling games for the Black Friday period. Call of Duty: Ghosts came out top, with Disney Infinity, Skylanders Swap Force, Grand Theft Auto V, and Madden NFL 25 rounding out the top five.

Super Mario 3D World sells through about 57% of its initial shipment in Japan

Super Mario 3D World sold about 100,000 copies in Japan in its first week. According to Media Create, the game sold through 57.17 percent of its shipment. That means Nintendo must have shipped roughly 175,000 copies at launch – a somewhat low figure given the Mario brand, though perhaps understandable given the Wii U’s install base.

Japan: Super Mario 3D World sees lowest debut for a 3D Mario game

Super Mario 3D World’s first week sales from Japan are in. Unfortunately, they’re not too hot.
Nintendo sold just over 100,000 copies of Super Mario 3D World in Japan last week. With roughly 107,000 copies in the hands of gamers, it’s the lowest debut for a 3D Mario game.
Here’s how Super Mario 3D World stacks up to other 3D entries:
1) Super Mario Galaxy 2 – 337,569 (1,032,853 total)
2) Super Mario 3D Land – 344,698 (1,861,023 total)
3) Super Mario Sunshine – 280,610 (789,989 total)
4) Super Mario Galaxy – 256,341 (1,025,664 total)
5) Super Mario 64* – 162,113 (1,639,914 total)
6) Super Mario 64 DS* – 120,062 (1,231,535 total)
7) Super Mario 3D World – 106,967
* Launch title
Of course, there are some things to consider here, such as the Wii U’s very low install base. Mario 3D World will also likely be one of Nintendo’s titles that continues to sell continuously over the next few years.
