Original: As we heard about earlier today, a new update for Splatoon 2 has gone live. Nintendo is now distributing version 4.8.0.

The official patch notes are not currently available. When we have them, we’ll update this post.

Splatoon 2’s next software update is imminent. It’ll be released later this event in North America, in the middle of the night in Europe and tomorrow morning in Japan. Version 4.8.0 will bring with it a variety of balance changes, as usual. We will keep you updated once the full official patch notes are out.

Play-Asia has opened pre-orders for the Splatoon 2: Off The Hook Live in Makuhari CD, which was just announced earlier this week. It will be sold in standard and limited edition variants.

The CD features music from Pearl and Marina’s performance at Game Party Japan 2019, including additional tracks not found in the previous two Splatoon 2 albums. If you go with the limited edition, you’ll receive a Blu-ray featuring the full, uncut recording of the Off The Hook show – all of the MC portions are included.

Back in January, Splatoon 2’s Off the Hook held a concert at Tokaigi Game Party in Tokyo. Don’t fret if you couldn’t attend – that concert will soon be getting a CD & Blu-ray release. Called Splatoon 2 Live in Makuhari -Off The Hook Live-, it’ll be released in Japan on July 24. The CD will contain all songs from that concert, as well as these six bonus songs (not from Off the Hook):

After Japan’s event last week, it was North America and Europe’s turn to host a Splatfest this weekend. Players could either side with Team Time Travel or Team Teleportation.

Following this weekend’s battles, Nintendo has posted the results. Here’s a look at how things panned out:

Splatoon 2 is about to kick off its latest Splatfest in North America and Europe. This weekend, players can battle it out in an event that has them choosing between time travel and teleportation as the power they’d want the most. We have some art for the Splatfest from Nintendo above.

This weekend, Nintendo held the latest Splatfest in Splatoon 2. It was for Japanese players only and featured a collaboration with Nippon Professional Baseball’s eSports Series.

Per usual, Nintendo offered two options. Players could either side with Team Se (Central League) or Team Pa (Pacific League). Here’s a look at how things panned out:

It was recently revealed that The Art of Splatoon 2 will finally be heading west later in the year. Amazon’s listings now show the English cover for the book, attached above.

The Art of Splatoon 2 is currently $7.59 off on Amazon US and $6.42 off on Amazon Canada. Also, it’s now up for pre-order on Amazon UK.

The Art of Splatoon 2 is on track for an overseas release on October 15.

The next Splatfest for Splatoon 2 has been announced. This will be a cross-region Splatfest for Europe and North America. The question this time is which superpower would you rather have, time travel or teleportation? The Splatfest starts next week, on May 18 at 1 PM UK time.
