Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion

Splatoon 2 is celebrating its first anniversary. As a way of highlighting the occasion, Famitsu published a lengthy developer interview in last week’s issue. The Japanese magazine caught up with producer Hisashi Nogami, director Yusuke Amano, director/art director Seita Inoue, director/lead programmer Shintaro Sato, and sound designer Toru Minegishi.

The team shared some interesting information about the hectic development cycle for Splatoon 2, Rank X, and more. There’s also plenty of Octo Expansion talk, including the difficult and the design for Agent 8.

Nintendo has issued the next update for Splatoon 2. Starting now, players can access version 3.2.1.

Splatoon 2’s latest update primarily implements several fixes. We’ve included the full patch notes below. 

The latest Splatfest in Splatoon 2 was held this weekend, and it was a big one. Nintendo had the Squid and Octopus teams battling it out.

After a day of battles, the Splatfest has concluded. Nintendo just shared the results as well.

Splatoon 2 is officially a year old. To celebrate the event, Nintendo posted a piece of art, which we have above.

Don’t forget: a new Splatfest kicks off tonight. It’ll be Team Squid and Team Octopus going head-to-head.

Last month, Nintendo revealed three new amiibo from Splatoon 2 – the Octolings. Today, a concrete release date for them has been revealed for Japan: November 9. No Western release date yet, but amiibo usually launch on the same day worldwide, so you can likely expect them on store shelves around the world on that day.

Splatoon 2

Nintendo will be publishing another small update for Splatoon 2 update. Look forward to version 3.2.1 next week.

At least for now, the update appears to address one issue in particular. Bomb Launcher bombs not having an effect on Bubble Blower bubbles will be addressed.

Splatoon 2 version 3.2.1 goes live on July 27 in Japan, so likely during the evening of July 26 in North America. We’ll report back when it’s live with full patch notes.

In the future, Splatoon 2 will be adding in the Nautilus 47 as a new weapon. Nintendo shared an early look at it in action, which you can find below.

The next big Splatoon 2 update has arrived. Following today’s earlier announcement, Nintendo has launched version 3.2.0 for all players.

Today’s update adds support for the new Pearl and Marina amiibo. There are also a ton of changes for weapons, Octo Expansion, and more.

Quite a bit is happening in Splatoon 2 tomorrow. The Pearl and Marina amiibo are finally being released and the game will also be updated to version 3.2.0. We don’t have the full English patch notes yet, but as always this update contains quite a few multiplayer balance changes. There are also several bug fixes and adjustments for the Octo Expansion.

Nintendo also revealed some new content coming to the game in a future update. First up is a new stage, Ancho-V Games:
