Star Fox Zero

The Fox amiibo isn’t the only figure that works with Star Fox Zero. The Falco amiibo has its own unique unlock, too.

As shown in AbdallahSmash026’s live stream earlier today, by scanning it, you’ll unlock the Black Arwing. This not only features an original color scheme, but also has some functionality. Using it allows players to lock on to two enemies at once, and enemies will dish out three times the damage.

Star Fox Zero is about a month away from release, but some footage of the game is starting to surface. Check out the video below for plenty of gameplay.

Nintendo has now opened the full North American website for Star Fox Zero. You can check it out here.

One of the more notable inclusions on the site is Star Fox Zero’s story intro. We’ve posted the full English video below.

The final cover for Prima’s Star Fox Zero Collector’s Edition guide is now in, pictured above. Amazon posted a tentative version awhile back, but the updated cover features a slightly different expression for Fox McCloud. This guide is due out alongside the game on April 22.

You can reserve the Star Fox Zero Collector’s Edition guide on Amazon here. Doing so will save you about $10.

Review copies of Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard are starting to make their way out to reviewers. The disc art for both games can be found above.

Nintendo updated the Japanese website of Star Fox Zero today with some info on the game’s locations. Here’s a list of the planets you’ll be visiting in the game:

  • Corneria
  • Meteo ?
  • Area 3
  • Zoness
  • Sector ?
  • Titania
  • Sector ?
  • Fichina
  • Fortuna
  • Sector ?
  • Venom

If you’ve played Star Fox 64, these places should sound familiar to you. Just like in that game, you’ll be able to choose between different routes to your final goal of Venom depending on your decisions in missions. For example, switching to the Walker on Corneria can lead you to a secret boss and a new route.

Another Star Fox Zero interview with Shigeru Miyamoto has popped up online. This time around, there’s a discussion published by TIME. Miyamoto talked about the switch in approach (now like a movie instead of a TV series), appealing to new players, his approach to difficulty, improvements that have been made, and building interest in dogfighting games.

We’ve posted some excerpts from the interview below. More comments from Miyamoto can be found on TIME here.
