Freedom Wars Remastered review for Nintendo Switch
Posted on 6 months ago by Dawn in Reviews, Switch | 0 comments
System: Switch
Release date: January 10, 2025
Developer: Dimps
Publisher: Bandai Namco
Despite the overwhelming and uncontested success of the Nintendo 3DS, I have always felt as though Sony gave up on the PlayStation Vita far too soon, and Freedom Wars is a fine illustration of this point. Originally released in 2014, the game went on to become one of the most successful first-party published titles for the system in Japan and easily filled the void left by the departure of Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise to Nintendo systems. With its post-apocalyptic dystopian setting, more detailed narrative, and varied mission structure that went beyond simply hunting large single targets over and over again, it felt like the next step for hunting-style action RPGs, limited only by its chosen platform. Playing through the game again over a decade later, Freedom Wars Remastered holds up surprisingly well.

Following the latest Splatoon 3 Splatfest this weekend – specifically for Frosty Fest 2025 – we’ve now got the results. The theme this time around was about what makes players the happiest, and the options were money, experiences, and presents.
Based on the halftime results, it was looking like things were the closest they’ve ever been in terms of clout. Team Money had the slightest of edges with 33.56 percent, followed by Team Presents with 33.51 percent, and even Team Experiences was not far behind at all with 32.93 percent.

These are the strongest final bosses in Kirby history
Posted on 6 months ago by Ethan in 3DS, Features, General Nintendo, Switch | 0 comments
While we wait for the next entry in the Kirby series (and therefore the next galactic crisis Kirby has to stop), we figure it’s as good a time as any to rank the strongest final bosses that are most canonically powerful. Out of all of Nintendo’s big franchises, Kirby might be the one most famous for its dramatic final boss battles. The scale and scope of these clashes have only increased over the years, and it’s certainly reached a peak with 2022’s Kirby and the Forgotten Land. As new games in the series are released, more lore and story tidbits come out to help us better understand the incredibly dangerous world Kirby happens to live in.
Miyamoto explains how he came up with the famous Mario pipes

Have you ever wondered how the famous pipes in the Mario series came to be? Thanks to creator Shigeru Miyamoto, we’ve got some insight.
Shumplations recently translated a classic interview that Game Maestro conducted with Miyamoto in 2000. As he stated during that discussion, Nintendo needed to come up with a way for enemies “that went to the bottom had to re-appear at the top of the screen.” Then while he was walking in Kyoto, he “saw a plastic pipe sticking out of a wall,” and that was the solution he came up with.

Virtual Console was originally planned for Nintendo Switch
Posted on 6 months ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Up until the release of Switch, Virtual Console was a big thing for Nintendo starting with Wii. Players could purchase and download a variety of classic titles from past hardware. However, with Nintendo Switch and the introduction of Nintendo Switch Online, things took a turn. Buying individual games is no longer possible, and instead those that have an active membership can access classics via different apps.
Virtual Console doesn’t exist on Switch, but new evidence has come to light indicating that Nintendo was exploring the idea at one point. LuigiBlood sifted through a new leak of iQue emails and shared findings today. Nintendo and iQue previously teamed up on different projects.

Rumor: Fallout 4 was once explored for Nintendo Switch
Posted on 6 months ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch | 0 comments
At one point in time, Bethesda was apparently looking into a Nintendo Switch version of Fallout 4.
Imran Khan, a former senior editor from Game Informer who previously leaked Everybody 1-2 Switch, shared that unconfirmed report this week. A port was allegedly being explored to the point in which Pete Hines – Bethesda’s former VP and head of publishing – told Khan’s boss “to expect it”. Khan was then told to prep a story in anticipation of a future announcement.
