Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin has received a new update worldwide. The Switch version is now at version 1.0.7.

Today’s update contains a new feature: the ability to hold a dog and a cat at once. Additionally, your dog will now come running to greet you when you return home from adventuring. The update also contains various balancing adjustments, other improvements, and support for Latin American Spanish and Simplified Chinese.

Knockout Home Fitness

XSEED Games and Marvelous today announced that it will publish Knockout Home Fitness on Switch worldwide. The title previously released in Japan as FiNC Home Fit.

XSEED Games has set a release date for the card battling RPG Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle in the west. In North America and Europe, the title is lined up for August 10.

Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle has been out in Japan since November 2020. XSEED and Marvelous previously announced the overseas version for this summer.

XSEED Games today teased the first details for its E3 2021 lineup ahead of the show, which takes place virtually between June 12 and June 15.

Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed, Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle, and Rune Factory 5 will all be featured. It also looks like three announcements are in store.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town

Marvelous prepared a 1.0.5 update for the Japanese version of Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town a few weeks ago. While it’s not out in the west soon, the good news is that it’s coming soon. XSEED has confirmed that it will be ready to go later in June.

XSEED Games and Marvelous today announced the release of the second wave of Expansion Pass DLC for Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town. The Windswept Falls Expansion Pack features old friends Dunhill, Felicia, Hina, and Neil from a previous entry in the series, with Felicia and Neil available as new marriage candidates. The ‘School Uniforms’ set has also been made available.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town

Original: A new update is now live for Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town in Japan, bringing the version number up to 1.0.5. Various improvements have been made due to feedback, with quality of life adjustments as well graphical and performance changes. Check out the patch notes below.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town

XSEED Games just announced that Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is now the company’s fastest-selling title. Over 200,000 copies have been sold in North America on Switch.

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town previously held the fastest-selling record for XSEED. That title took five months to reach 200,000 units sold (currently at over 250,000 since launching last July) whereas Pioneers of Olive Town took just two months.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town has been receiving regular updates since launch to improve the player experience, with more improvements planned in the future. Additional content will also continue to be made available through the Expansion Pass.

Akiba's Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed

XSEED will release Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed in North America on July 20, the company announced today. Europe will be getting the game on July 23.

XSEED intends to offer a 10th Anniversary Edition at retail. Copies include the following:

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town

With some games that first launch in Japan, there can be a delay for when it finally reaches fans in North America and Europe. Story of Seasons has been one example of this, but thankfully the gap is decreasing dramatically. It took almost a year for Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town to head west after its Japanese debut, but with Pioneers of Olive Town, the title was made available in the west just one month later.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town director Hikaru Nakano and producer Dai Takemura spoke about the need for worldwide simultaneous launches in an interview with Dengeki Online. We’ve included our full translation of their comments below.
