Corpse Party: Blood Drive

In celebration of the start of 2020, XSEED is hosting a new eShop sale. Switch owners can save on games such as Fate/Extella Link and Corpse Party: Blood Drive while 3DS has slashed the prices of Story of Seasons and more.

Here’s the full lineup:

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin will not release this winter as originally planned. Publisher XSEED Games and developer Edelweiss have delayed the game, and it will now arrive in 2020.

Regarding the delay, Edelweiss director Nal said in a statement:

Senran Kagura almost had a very different name in the west. As revealed by publisher XSEED Games, the franchise was almost called “Ninjugs”.

Senran Kagura originally launched on 3DS in Japan back in 2011. An updated version, Senran Kagura Burst, then saw the series’ debut overseas in 2012.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about Edelweiss’ Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. Today, Dengeki Online published a seven minute-long gameplay video:

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is scheduled for a release sometime this Winter. XSEED Games will publish the game in North America while Marvelous will handle distribution in Europe.

XSEED has published a launch trailer for its overseas release of Heroland on Switch. Take a look at the new video below.

The RPG Heroland makes its debut on Switch in the west today. We’ve captured a bunch of footage, and you can find an hour of gameplay below.

Heroland will be released in the west on December 3, XSEED Games announced today. The 2D RPG was known as Work x Work in Japan and was worked on by key developers from Mother 3, Legend of Mana, and Fantasy Life.

Here’s some additional information and a trailer:

XSEED Games is turning 15 years old this year. To celebrate, the company has been sharing some fun facts on social media.

One of these facts concerns the Wii RPG The Last Story. It was published by XSEED in North America, and was the only time the company’s logo changed on a boxart. Director Hironobu Sakaguchi actually gave the request since he felt the red logo clashed with the gray color on the front. XSEED, of course, was more than happy to oblige.

The Last Story originally released on Wii in Japan in January 2011. It wouldn’t reach North America until August 2012. While Nintendo published the game in Europe and Japan, XSEED only handled publishing duties in North America.
