Nintendo has filed several new trademarks for “downloadable videogame programs” in Japan. They are as follows: Dillon’s Dead-Heat Breakers, Luigi’s Mansion, Mario & Luigi, Metroid, Metroid Prime, Smash Bros., Wario Land and WarioWare. Most of these are from franchises that we know have upcoming games. The odd one out here is Wario Land, which currently has no new game announced.

Of course, this trademark doesn’t really mean much by itself. Just last year, Nintendo picked up a trademark for the Virtual Boy version of Wario Land, but so far nothing has come of that. We’ll just have to wait and see if this trademark will amount to anything.

The South Korean rating board has rated Football Manager Touch 2018 for the Nintendo Switch. This game is a simplified version of the 2018 edition of the popular Football Manager series – this version puts the focus on transfers and tactics. As the name implies, it also features touch controls, which is likely part of the reason why it seems to be coming to the Switch. As always, a game getting an age rating is not a 100% confirmation of it being actually released, but it does make it extremely likely. We will keep you updated on any further developments.

It’s the end of the week, which means another weapon addition to Splatoon 2. The Zink Mini Splatling is identical to the regular Mini Splatling in terms of stats, but comes with the Curling Bomb sub-weapon and the Ink Storm special instead. It’ll be available tomorrow around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and later tonight in North America.

Some unfortunate news from the development studio Over Fence: the creators of Flip Wars, which launched on the Switch last year and was published by Nintendo, have filed for bankruptcy. The company stated that it has a debt of 2 million Yen.
