Nintendo and its relationship with the YouTube community has not been without its problems. Back in September, users part of the Nintendo Creators Program received e-mails stating that as part of new guidelines they could no longer broadcast content on YouTube Live.

In an interview with Polygon, YouTube’s head of gaming, Ryan Wyatt, says he believes Nintendo has better options than how they are currently conducting business in terms of dealing with content creators and monetization.

Wyatt says that YouTube and Nintendo “have constant conversations with each other to try and figure out how to benefit both the video game publisher and the creator community on YouTube.”

Team Cherry shared some updates on the Switch port of Hollow Knight today. Notably, the game is now expected to be ready for release early 2018. The developers explain that as first-time developers, Hollow Knight was originally built in “some strange, unoptimised ways” that is going to take a little more time to polish for the Switch version.

The full details are as follows:

Rocket League

During an AMA on Reddit, Psyonix provided tech specs for Rocket League on the Switch. When docked, the resolution is 720p. The resolution stays around 526p when in portable mode. The priority seems to have been keeping the game running at a solid 60fps.

Rocket League runs at 1280×720 in Docked and uses a dynamic resolution scaler in Undocked (handheld) depending on the stadium being played. Generally speaking it hovers around 1024×576. Post launch we plan to continue working on optimizing the game.

From the collaborations with Vans, Uniqlo, and LeSportsac in the fashion world to the recent crossover Mario + Rabbids title to the Super Nintendo World project with Universal Studios, it might be hard to remember a time when Nintendo seemed reserved in terms of joint ventures.
