According to Pokemon producer Shigeki Morimoto, the original entries in the series almost left out multiplayer battles.
That news comes from a Japanese Pokedex book from 1996, which was recently translated by Did You Know Gaming. Morimoto mentioned how he thought multiplayer battles “would be a pain to program”. Additionally, Game Freak was running out of time. Nintendo, however, essentially demanded for the feature to be included.

Humankind rated for Switch in multiple regions
Posted on 2 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
SEGA and Amplitude Studios announced the strategy title Humankind for consoles during Summer Game Fest this week, but you may have noticed that Switch was left out of the mix. While there’s been nothing in the way of an official announcement, a version for Nintendo’s console could still be possible in the future.
Humankind has not only been rated for Switch once, but twice. Classifications have surfaced from the ESRB as well as in Taiwan. One would think that this could potentially be an error, though the fact that there are multiple ratings certainly makes things interesting. Perhaps a Switch version could be announced at a later date.
